    Default 2010 Beat Belly Bulge!!

The Today Show is featuring food ideas for decreasing belly bulge. It seems that our waist measurement is almost as important as our weight!!

Guidelines for waist measurement max are:

    Women - 35"

    Men - 40"

I've decided that this will be a simple way to track how I'm doing with my weight loss.

    My waist is curently 41.5".

I'm going to check in once a week to measure how I'm doing.

Anyone else want to join me?

Maui, I will join you, hate to tell my belly size though

    43.5"

The size of your belly ie the distribution of your fat (apple shape vs pear shape)... it shows a predisposion to diabetes and is an early symptom of metabolic syndrome, which eventually becomes diabetes.

I am doing 25-50 ball crunches per day to help with that .. it just tightens it up as you lose .. really doesn't get rid of it by itself

I am also joining this challenge. I had alot of health issues in 2009, inlcuding being diagnosed with diabetes, and the only meds that have worked to help with my sugar levels have caused me to gain 70 pounds in 8 months. I am also very embarrassed to see that my belly measures 46.5".

Mahalo for joining this interesting challenge!! I will post off the information I can find for us and invite you to do the same.

Our waist measurement is a fact, so no shame as to what it is and where we are. My goal is to hit 35" or less, as I'm sure yours is also.

When I saw the name of the post, I thought, I saw that this morning; I wonder what the info is. Did you get from that show that it is too much sugar? That is what I got from it. I so want to do this too. I'm actually afraid to get the tape measure out. You are brave MM.

I'm going on vacation and I'm going to take Dr Phil book on food and find out foods that contain less or little sugar.

Thanks for the challenge MM. I probably need this challenge more than any that have ever been posted

I'm in too. Dr. says I need to lose 4 pounds per month to be at my best weight. Maybe with ideas from here I can do it more easily. Good luck everyone. Will post measurement tomorrow also. Need to look for my tape measure. If I don't find mine at home I'll bring one home from school to check it tomorrow.

I am going to look for the sugar buster book at the library. I have seen it there before and figure that will give me a cheap way to read about getting the sugar out of the diet.

Don't forget to share the info that you find!!

For those who would rather not share their waist measurement, take your waist measurement and keep track of the actual inches and post how many inches you have lost.

Mahalo to all of you who have joined on this journey - I think it will not only be rewarding, but also fun - because we are fun people!!
