Hello Squidge and Palooka, I wondered where the two of you had disappeared to. Squidge glad to hear that you are staying the same rather than a gain and that your portions have not increased. It sounds like perhaps you have it a little plateau.

Palooka, I have been bad with the holiday pies. We had no Halloween candy left over. In fact, dh said that we could have given candy away to another 25-35 kids this year. We had to turn people away when we ran out. There was a lot of noise in the neighborhood for a good 1-1/2 hours after we ran out of candy.

I need to do what you have done and start with the fresh steamed veggies and brown rice to get this holiday taste out of my mouth.

I have managed to run and/or walk at least 4 miles a day for five days now, so that is something! Today will be tough. I have to be in court at 9:30a and I have to conduct a closing-out inventory at 5:30p, all down in Sacramento, so not sure when I'll squeeze a walk in. I can walk to court, which is a two-mile round trip, at least.

I've fallen so behind on this thread. I'm going to do better.

    Today was what it was.

Lunch- oven fried fish and oven baked fries

Supper- bean soup & hot dogs

    Still taking vitamins

    I've fallen behind here too.

I know I probably shouldn't be encouraging this but cake for breakfast can be all kinds of awesome

Yesterday my friend had me over to her home for belated birthday celebrations and we had sandwiches, little scones, chocolate cream-filled eclairs and cupcakes and it was just lovely. I ate far too much but it was so thoughtful and nice of her that I don't care at all!

Tonight is one of my 'Cupcakes and Cocktails' nights that I have with my female friends every two months or so. My SO's sister is coming along this time which will be very fun. Another night of poor food choices but it'll great fun with great company. After all, it's Christmas - right?

Dh and I both have been craving comfort food and also desserts (which we normally do not eat), but one of the stores has an awesome buy on pecan pies and ice cream this week. So I bought pecan pie and pecan ice cream and whip cream and we have been happily lapping up every bite of it. We do not do this all of the time and I do no sweet baking at the holidays, so this is our little treat. Therefore, I am joining Polly and Squidge in the eating fun.

We have been doing a lot of comfort food eating lately. Once dh's surgery is over and he is well again, I plan on returning to the eating plan that I did so well on in the late summer/early fall. I was very successful at losing inches and weight on that plan. Until then, my eating is semi-healthy.
