I'm in, too I kind of dropped out the last few months last year I've about 7-9lbs to lose but my main challenge is eating healthily and not gaining since my weight can balloon up very quickly.

My weight loss strategies for this year are:

    1. Wholegrain breakfasts and lunches.
    2. Wholegrain dinners as often as possible.
    3. Dinner should be a third the size of SO's or a half if I am having dessert.
    4. STOP WHEN FULL. Don't eat all of the takeaway or restaurant food just because it's there.
    5. No sweet things before dinner time (if so, smaller dinner).
    6. Drink 2 CamelBaks of water per day.
    7. Take a multi-vitamin with breakfast.

I'm definitely in for this one, though I won't be able to start until mid-January (my baby is due the 17th)! However, I think even starting then will allow me to "pretend" I've lost a pound a week to that point since I should be "losing" 5-6 pounds in that one week alone! (Hope you don't consider that cheating!!!!!!)

    Thanks for getting this started!
    May Goals:
Only $300 for groceries this month - $206/$300
    Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
    No wasted food!
    Stick to budget!
    Track spending DAILY
    Get checkbook balanced
    Save $200 toward EF: $85/$200

2012 FV Challenges: Try New Recipes Challenge: 22/52, Menu Planning Challenge: 21/52, Grocery Reduction Budget Challenge, Change Jar Challenge: $27.81 as of 1-14-12, Lose A Pound A Week Challenge: 3/48, No Wasted Food Challenge

    2012 Goals

    1. To pay off CC (only $917.15 left!) and never again charge more than I can pay off each month.
    2. Snowball the CC payment into Sears Credit Card bill (no interest) and get it paid off ASAP.
    3. Snowball the CC and Sears card payments into hospital bill (due w/ Baby #2 via C-section in mid-January). Pay that off ASAP.4. Snowball payments into DH's student loan (as of 12/4/11 there's still $4770.84 remaining). Pay off by 12/31/12.
    5. Keep our grocery budget to $300 each month.
    6. Use Dave Ramsey's budget sheet and get on track with this each pay period.
    7. Get and keep checkbook balanced and keep an eye (weekly if not daily) on our e-statements.
    8. Get savings account up to $8,000 (incl. emergency fund)
    9. Make 2 Christmas gifts per month: 0/24.
    10. Get our home organized: use a receipt book, keep my coupon organizer in check, have a touch-once policy for paper (touch once and then file or toss).
    11. Achieve "give or get" goal of $1500 for the board I serve on by 9/30/12.
    12. Taxes filed by March 17.

I was surprised when I was weighed at the doctor's this morning that I had not put on any weight from Thanksgiving through Christmas - stress must be good for something then!!

I'll join this too, I plan to get pregnant sometime in 2012, but I want to loose as much as I can before then. I weigh 175 right now, My goal is 135, but I would be really pleased with my wedding weight at 146, one day. 1lb a week is a a good start, and I would definitely be happy getting below 170 again.

Hi there! I'm in for another year. I weighed in at Curves today, and was really surprised that I had not gained anything over the holidays!! I didn't lose anything, either, but hey!

I kind of petered out on this thread towards the end of this year, but I'm ready to start again!

I would like to join this also. I like to measure myself and not do a weigh in if that is alright. I find when I excerise my weight goes higher because of the muscles and I get depressed so I do the measure and I like seeing the results that way. Good luck to everyone.

I'm in. I have 50 lbs. to lose. I'll be happy with 25, but 50 would be a lot better. I'm working with a naturopath and two doctors to make this happen. My cholesterol is high and the doctors want it down 'or else!' So I'm eating whatever the naturopath lets me eat, within reason. There's no simple sugars, no fruit juice, no simple carbs, no gluten, no soy, and no dairy (I'm lactose intolerant).

I've already lost 17 lbs. since May, ten of it the last two months. I'm hoping to lose a pound every week as well. Not sure how I'll do it, but I'm going to try.

Right now I am attacking exercise. I am trying to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in a day.

You are on to a good technique: posting your plan. Even though things go astray, and life interferes, having a plan is key, and posting it gives us some accountability. Most of us here know what works for our individual selves; the problem is actually implementing it. So I'll join in posting my plan.

    Exercise:
    Curves 4-5 times a week
Use hand weights 3 times a week (I keep them in the basement laundry room, of all places, and try to use them as I do laundry).
    Walk daily

    Food:
    Continue my low carb diet.
Breakfast: protein (usually fish), and coffee
Lunch: protein and salad or other raw veggies like celery
    Supper: protein, salad, veggies

That's the plan. Today I am going thru fridge and pantry to weed out stuff that should not be there.
