Oh'smom-take care. I was wondering if any were in the path of these early storms.
Dean-oh, a mommas heart.Bless you. Try and feel joy in their accomplishments as hard as it is to see them go. This dang economy just calls for decisions we wouldn't even consider otherwise.
Mto5RN-I wish I could cheer you up.
Well-we are in for high winds tonight up to 60 miles per hour.
Death toll is up to 16 from the storms already. So if I am not on tomorrow...

val-take care also. We had one 2 miles up and 1/2 mile over also but I think those were close enough for me! Oh and I think we drove w/ one on our tail up north once. The car behind us got hit w/ a tree. We ducked in a motel. When we came out all 4 roads were hit w/ trees like a giant went thru and broke off matches.
Madhen-and so it continues w/ this storm!
Gnight all.

So many pages of reading! It's 12:30 a.m. here, so I should give up reading while the going's good!
Polly - I'm so glad you're excited about gardening and what you're going to plant. The one thing I hate about gardens though are the weeds!
All that talk about flip flops and warm weather is making me jealous. I can't complain though. We've had a pretty good winter. Not much snow to be honest, but not warm by any stretch of the imagination. Tonight has a wind warning and possible thunderstorm in effect. Hopefully the power doesn't go out 'cause I need my alarm clock to wake me up at 8:30 tomorrow morning.
We hosted a Bible study at our house tonight...10 adults and 13 kids!! It was a potluck...we provided pulled pork, chips and drinks, one lady brought veggies, one lady brought buns, one lady brought a salad and one lady brought the dessert! Yum!
DD1 is going to a Girl Guides camp with her Brownies group! My BABY!! It's for one night. I really hope she has fun.
Guess I should call it a night. Have a good night, all! Sleep tight! ((HUGS))If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else.

Prayers and positive thoughts to all in the line of the storms.
Sunny and chilly here today. Thunder, lightening, and high winds last night but no tornadoes. Thank God for that. Full day of housework today, so I better get to it.
Praying God keeps you and yours safe today and always.

Good morning everyone! Hope you all stay safe in the storms! We had a bunch of snow the last few days, probably more than we've had all winter.
Things with DS are going OK. We had some really good talks, and he is going to buckle down for the rest of the school year, and make this his best semester ever. I think he knows that he had better do whatever it takes to make me happy, and he's doing that without question. Yesterday, we went through his entire room, and cleaned it top to bottom! We pulled out a garbage bag full of clothes to donate, and 2 bags of garbage. He still has to go through his books, but that's it. This is a big thing for us, as he hates getting rid of anything.
DH had a long talk with him on Skype the other day, and also wrote him a letter. I can only hope that this all knocked some sense into DS's head, and he gets his act together. He's such a good kid in every other way, so I would appreciate it if you could send a few more good thoughts our way!
In other news, I've been working on my dishcloths steadily, and have around a dozen finished. I have to start baking for this sale as well, but I need some ideas. Maybe I'll start a new thread asking for bake sale ideas. I only have 2 1/2 weeks left!
My sister is coming to stay for the night tonight. She's on home from a holiday in Palm Springs. She drove down there, and took her own route to see a bunch of things she wanted to. She sent me a picture of herself standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona (from the song 'Take it Easy' by The Eagles). I was so jealous!
I've always wanted to go there, too! Best part about her coming here, is I can give her all our tax stuff. She's an accountant, and does our taxes every year. The only problem we might have is DS. Last year was the first year he worked, and someone told me that you can't do your first tax return online--it has to be done on paper, and mailed in. Not a big problem, just kind of annoying.
Anyways, I should have some breakfast, and get my butt in gear. Lots to do today, and no real motivation to get it done!
Have a great day!~Tracy~

Oh deb not more snow! Enough is enough! I'll pray for spring for you!
No I won't be making this trip. DH will drive the uhaul. Billie(dd#2) will ride with him. SIL will take a loaded car. They will drop off uhaul in Pittsburgh and ride home with him. Brandi (dd#1) will come here on Friday to help pack and will drive her loaded car, then travel from there back to Hershey. I get to stay home and dog sit all day. I'll make the trip the next week end, when we take the grill, lawnmower, etc. in our pickup.
DH filled his gas tank this morning, $98.
I almost cried!
The economy here seems to be getting better with jobs-just much less paying ones. No full time with benefits jobs to be had.
Retail, food service, etc. No family sustaining openings. My neighbor is now working 4 part time jobs. Gone all the time. each job just minimum wage and no benefits. the struggle goes on.

Just checking in. All the noisy wind last night kept us up all night but no noticable damage. Didn't lose our electric remarkably.
Oh'smom-here's hoping BIL is fine. Glad nothing hit you. Hope everyone you know is safe.

Hugs OhM, It sounds like those storms were terrible. Good to hear that your SIL is okay.
Madkat, thinking of your son today. I am sure that he is sorry for his mistakes and will make you really proud of him in the end.
MH, enjoy your spring weather.
Dean, it just seems that is the way that families are going these days. I know of a family where generations have lived near each other and now they are scattering to other states to look for work. So sad. So glad for you though that you can make a three hour trip in the early morning stay until after dinner and be home by 9:00 p.m. to visit with your daughter, SIL and grandchildren.
I miss my family too. Sisters, nieces, nephews, BILs, and the great nieces are all far away too. My mom and step-dad live several states over.
FW and Val, stay safe during these storms too.
I wanted to do some decluttering today, but dh is not feeling up to it and I think that he thinks I will not be ruthless enough in getting rid of the items that we will be sorting through, so he said that we would do the decluttering on another day. So today, I will pay some bills, balance the checkbook and make a nice dinner. All meals will be from home today.
Deb C, you sure have had your share of snow lately. Wishing for a little spring weather for you.
Polly, you okay? You haven't been on the computer in a few days.
QM, I hope that your bible study goes well.
To everyone may you have a nice day today.
