A2M-I suggest you mop to break up the scent trail. I battle w/ ants due to pet food too. Full of sugar no doubt.
Val-least your washer isn't broken?

ds asked dh to drive him theres a reasin i say he is my smartest kid LOL doesnt know where hes going and doesnt want to end up confused and lost and get in or cause an accident .
i saw my 2 pts one is a dear friend who her ds is a longtime friend of my older ds .
work wise still slow but i am ok with it for now
have my reserv money put away hve my tix bought and i have the ebay auction for the sonos play 5 up to 304.00 with 8 watchers- so happy with that
i looked at our budget and i can make what we need to have for my part of the bills ( minus food wich i take some each week from my ck for that ) in 2 decent pays .
that doesnt help with extras or paying down bills and i dont want to be content with just staying afloat BUT i know there will be busier weeks and dh is supposed to get bonuses etc with this job and i told him they need to go to paying bill down if i want to keep my sanity .
i am going to do what i have to do to get my PA RN license back. i had let it expire when i wasnt working and didnt have the 100+ to keep it active - since i kept my NJ active and PA is actually where i orginally got it it should just be a matter of some fees and some paperwork .
its a beautuiful low 80 here
oldest is at a friends ) went to casinos last night not sure where from there )
middle son is at first of 2 grad parties
younger dd is out at movies then off to go swimming

M25RN-sorry getting hours is hard.
Went to the grad party and had fun talking to our group. We met when we were 18 and now are kids are mostly 23-16yo. so odd.
The party was around the corner from my old house. They have done a lot to change it. We have been gone 18 yrs.now but it was our first.
I WAS SO IMPRESSED AT HOW FRUGAL THE PARTY WAS! He borrowed a tent, had snapfish make the first invite then Costo the rest @ .13 ea.,had taco fixins, faygo and coke,a choc, fountain w/ strawberries. All very nice. His wife made 5 montages of pictures of her growing up and mounted them on cardboard and hung on the fence.
Simple and clever.06-16-2012, 09:51 PM #3139
FW, I will try and mop tomorrow. Today, I had to be super quiet as dh has the flu. I hope that it is only the 24 hour variety. So no walking today. I napped, read and surfed for new recipes and went to the corner to the used bookstore that I have a credit at, but did not find anything that I would like.
The graduation party sounds very nice FW.
MT5RN, so sorry that your hours are less per week than you desire. I hope that your e-bay auctions help to fill in the financial gap until your work hours increase.
Off to get some dinner and surf some more.

A2M-Suggestion. I always keep a spray bottle w/ 1/6th bleach and the rest water and another w/ vinegar and water. Just spray and wipe. That will do it too. Sorry DH is ill again.06-17-2012, 12:12 PM #3141
Good morning to all! May your husbands have a wonderful Father's Day! I didn't know what my plans were today, until I opened my closet and realized that all of my jeans were in the laundry, so I am wearing sweat pants. Looks like laundry is in my future today. I miss my dad even though he passed on years ago, days like this are hard, so doing laundry will help to keep my mind busy. The newspaper was really big today too, so that will take some time to read.
Have a great day everyone.

Filthy and broke I will get a grill somewhere, hopefully today. Prob. take dad out this week?? Thats another bridge.06-17-2012, 12:56 PM #3143
good am everyone Happy Fathers day

my plans are to do bills do some food shopping later - was planning to have 18 yo go with me but that may not happen now

dh wants a pizza from hi fav pizza place for dinner ( act we will have to get 2 )
my auction is uo to 361.xx with 4 bids and 10 watchers and a little less then 2 days to go - none of my other auctions have any bids but my shady ltd ( eminem rapper brand i dont think is sold anymore ) has a few watchers .
anyway thats about all here06-17-2012, 09:16 PM #3144
M-good luck w/ your auctions/
The grill came out better than I thought,(at 1 point I was looking at ads for a new one) and I got all 3 burners going again.
Dinner came out nice. Ds cooked the special steaks I bought,I made a salad and oven wedge fries, and put out dk. cherries, We all had lemonade.
Just before we ate the dogs tagged a squirrel and Mackey ran around the yard 20x w/ it upsetting Ds who then called me crazy and went to his room. He is mad I wouldn't get up to catch it but I am allergic to tetnus so NOT.
DD knocked the blizzard maker on the floor and had drama but I didn't buy in.
Just a typical day at this house. Poor DH has a class for work that started at 8 pm. and will be 5 nights. But,I am encouraged because you don't usally educate someone you are laying off. And it fills 1 of his goals for work this year. I'll just make him one and take it down. Happy Fathers Day!06-18-2012, 11:01 AM #3145
Hello and happy monday.
Fathers Day is done and onto cleaning either the fridge or the bedroom where the new mattress will live. DD needs to finish cleaning the hall but its mostly clear.
Yogi is upstairs again so poor DH can sleep. All of us but Ds got ill last night and I wonder if a sauce from the dinner was old or we had a bug?
Dh had his first class and apparently the man has a very heavy accent so Dh is finding him difficult to understand. At least he can playback over again.
Plan to schedule some pets for shots and reschedule my eye appt. And vaccumn-big time. Hopefully the new rocker will come in and the old blue chair can say farewell.lol Hope is stays coolish. BBL>06-18-2012, 11:07 AM #3146

Good morning ladies!
Took a while to catch up! Glad to hear everyone is doing OK.
It just seems to be getting busier and busier here! DH's car had a recall, so I had to take it in on Friday. Good thing it was a nice day, because I chose to walk home and back to the dealership to pick it up. It was just a minor thing, so not a big deal.
We also had to take DS to one of the men's shops to have him fitted for a tuxedo for his grad. He's actually quite excited about it, because he's getting a top hat, too. He's a little weird! The hat was the only way we could get him to dress up. We bought him a silver pocket watch on a chain, and had his initials and the graduation date engraved on it. I said all he needs now is a monocle and a silver-tipped walking stick, and he'd look like a real gentleman.
We were supposed to stay home and relax this weekend, until my sister reminded me that it was Father's Day! We went out to her place on Saturday, and yesterday we took my dad to the horse races. It was a lot of fun, especially since DH was picking the right horses! We won about $40, and spent maybe $50, so we were only down $10 for a really fun afternoon. DH ran into an old friend that he went through Battle School (basic training) with 22 years ago. We haven't seen him in at least 10 years, if not more. It's funny to run into guys that we knew that long ago. Now they're married, have almost grown children, and we all wonder where the time went, since we all still feel like 20 year-olds!
We've also been doing a lot of planning for a trip we're taking in July. Our niece is getting married in British Columbia, and we're driving out for it. DH is a big planner, so we have every step set out for us. We decided to make it into a family holiday, and actually do some fun stuff along the way. We are going to drive to Edmonton (about 11 hours away), and spend the night there. We want to arrive early enough so we can spend the evening at the West Edmonton Mall. From there we travel the rest of the way to DH's hometown in central BC. We are staying in a hotel, because DH's brother & SIL will have a houseful, and lots to do. We don't want to get in their way! After a couple of days visiting with DH's family (which is about all I can take!), we are going to a place called Barkerville, which is an old gold-mining town, that has been turned into an historic site. You know the kind, where all the old buildings are restored, and everyone is in costume. We are staying in a hotel there that looks like an old gambling river steamboat. The kids are really looking forward to that! After that, we are driving to Banff, and staying overnight just outside of there. It's kind of cool, since we will be there on our 19th anniversary, and Banff is where we went on our honeymoon. From there, we drive home. We are only gone for 6 days, so it will be rushed, but we are masters in the art of rushing! I didn't want to take too many days off work, since if I don't work, I don't get paid! Anyways, we're really looking forward to this trip--it's been awhile since we've gone anywhere!
Well, I'm off to check the grocery flyers, and plan my grocery shopping for this morning! Hope you all have a wonderful day!~Tracy~06-18-2012, 11:53 AM #3147

Madkat, I would make your husband crazy. When I decided to visit my friend in PA, I did most of my planning on the fly, checking for hotels in transit, changing flights and train rides around as my day progressed and I changed my plans.
Yesterday was my birthday, which falls on Father's Day every couple of years. Back when my father was alive, and I was little, there was always a conflict as to whether we would celebrate my birthday or his Father's Day. I usually won. (There are advantages to being a child.) My dad died in 1987, at age 52, of cancer, so we haven't had to make that choice for many years, and I always feel like I cheated him a bit, since I think now that I'm older, I would have been willing to sacrifice a birthday celebration now and then to make him feel loved and appreciated on HIS day.
I usually celebrate my birthday by taking a week off from work. This week, I have to go in on one day, tomorrow, but I intend to spend the rest of my week enjoying the aging process.DH aka Mad Hen

puter' is fixed will have internet tomorrow YAY! my friend is so nice she fixed it for me...... hugs and kisses.... prayers.06-18-2012, 02:48 PM #3149
Madhen that's so silly but sweet. Your dad would want you to have the celebrations! Kitty has it good w/ it's own nook. The wild one I got is in my lap. Took a year to domesticate her and lots of patience. Most of the first year I talked to her glowing eyes under the bed. I would take a fur mouse on a log stick and we would play.
Madkat-wow you are one busy lady. My ddad would never go to the races. I will go over this week w/ steak dinner. It takes a lot to get him out of the house and crowds overwhelm.
The guys do that now,I would have told him he looks like MR Peanuts cousin! DD's BF now went to the prom as beetle juice , and her date went as a yakusa (he was asian), and he date for her prom wore a blue tux and gave her a giant corsage. So the point, their all goofy now.
I had Dh's company provide a limo so we knew they arrived, didn't stay out overnight and were at the prom for pick up. I didn't send her w/ cond--s just a warning.lol
Rained like crazy here so I'm glad I grilled lunch and made chicken for wraps already, will clean the small deck another time. I did get some vaccumning done.
Mad at DD again. She slept until 12:30 because I woke her and she has a lung cough she won't call about. She also says here reflux meds need refill and wont call. What kinda fool has free medical... Whatever.06-18-2012, 03:12 PM #3150

Happy Birthday Donna!
Loved the vacation pix by the way...especially the hauntedBank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.
