    What she said!

Happy New Year ladies! We slept in here today...all except dh who went to bed early...party-pooper! Anyway, sounds like a TB sanatorium around here with all the coughing! I took Nyquil before going to bed, but woke up with my head, ears, and throat packed full of sn*t! Ugh! Ds10 and I are in the living room and he'll cough, then I'll cough, then he'll cough, and I'll cough...when will it go away? I went out walking with my Mom last night and had an asthma attack which I frequently do when cold air goes into my lungs. Had to use my inhaler which makes me feel jittery, but gets the job done. It's 59 degrees and sunny here today, but a cold front is coming in on Monday night and it's supposed to get very cold. Finally some winter weather...

I've been trying to think about the things I want to improve around here this year and the list is...our finances, the clutter, family connections, my exercise routine, my beauty routine, downsizing and working on my clothing, shoes, etc. (if it's not used, I need to get rid of it), stockpiling as usual, and I've got to tackle that cave of a garage that we have full of only God knows what. That's the short list. I also want to work on Christmas 2012 all year starting with knitting. I think I'm going to make everyone a hat and scarf.

Well, I hear dh grumbling in the garage taking the Christmas storage boxes down so I'd better get up and help him. Don't want him to get an excuse to not work...lol.

    Welcome to the newbs! BBL...

Hi Ladies! I was just catching up on my email and I got an email from the site where I bought some embroidery designs from. I sent them a picture of the attached wall hanging I made and they are going to feature it in their Stitcher's Showcase in a couple of weeks. I am so excited!

val - get up!!!! Pretend like your helping him so he does the job! I hope all the colds pass quickly for you and the guys.

tervs - I saw the wallhanging on the other thread and I just LOVE it!!! I think it is soooo cute. Congrats!!! No wonder you are excited!!

Tervsie - The overtime money must be nice, but I can see why you're excited for the overtime to be done with.

Dean - Your noon dinner sounds yummy! DH just put party food (hor d'oeuvres) for lunch. The girls will have something else; they wouldn't like eating hor d'oeuvres since they're all pastry-like. DH and I plan on watching the second Transformers movie while we eat lunch.
I'm jealous of your nicer weather. Can we switch?...Please?

Sabrelssammy - Thanks for sharing the recipe! If I used a body scrub, I'd definately make it.

Nuisance26 - So glad you're joining this thread! Don't worry about all the chatting. It's sometimes overwhelming if/when you want to catch up! Don't feel obligated to respond to everybody's post. Sometimes it's next to impossible especially if you've missed a few days.
A lot of changes are coming your way! Come here to vent when you're feeling exhausted with it all.

Debbie - That was kind of you and your hubby to help the three cars stuck in the ditch! You guys are such good people!

A2M - Church service was nice. Since it was just one longer service instead of two shorter once, things were changed up a bit. A lot more songs, a speaker (which we usually have in the second service) then communion. It was nice though, of course!

Madhen - Sounds like you're starting the year off well! You're off to a good start!

KimZ - Sorry to hear about your daughter/coach dilemma. Try not to worry! Easier said then done, but it might work itself all out in the end. I can see why you're upset though. Your daughter has a great plan to talk to the girls about it in front of the coach. Let us know what comes to be.

MaryinFL - Welcome to this thread! You have great plans for this year!

FW2 - Your supper plans sound good. Did you start your giant ham yet? Do you use a slow cooker or oven to cook it?
So nice to hear your mom's hip problem has subsided. We'll continue to pray that her congestion goes away.

Val - I hope all your colds and illnessess disappear soon. Not a nice way to bring in the New Year.

Should run since the girls need to be fed some lunch! BBL!

Good afternoon everyone, dinner is over, girls are doing the dishes so I decided to stop in for a minute.

    Cute wall hanging tervs.

Liam is "helping" Grunka (dh) with the final steps to the shelf unit. DS will hold it while dh hangs it. Everyone is getting ready to pack it up and head for home. The national weather service has just issued a sever storm warning for tonight, all day tomorrow, and all day Tuesday. Sleet will start tonight, then 20s and snow tomorrow 6-12 inches, single digits Monday night and a high in the teens for Tuesday. Can't believe it's still 48 here now, but the clouds are now rolling in. Bedspreads both dried, but the towels never made it outside, They will go into the basement instead. That's okay, I can still get that fresh air smell from the bedspreads.

I believe that I will join in on this thread. For a little while I most likely will not post too much. Not sure of what to say or how much to say. I, too, am mostly an introvert, I have always felt like most people were not interested in what I had to say for the most part. (I guess it stems from my growing up years) So, I will feel my way through this and see what others have to say on a daily basis.

So for now I will take baby steps to expressing myself, feelings, likes and wants to others. But, know this, I will start sharing my thoughts and feelings. I just need to figure out how to do it and then they will just roll off onto the keyboard.

    Love you guys on FV.

Dean - sorry about the storm moving in especially with all the nice weather you have been having!

Vanilla - nice to hear from you. Enjoy yourself at the inlaws.

labontet - I am so glad you are joining us! Just jump in whenever you feel comfortable. You might become an extrovert hanging out with us for a while.

I have been cleaning and organizing all day with the winter storm blowing outside. I feel like I have accomplished alot and have thrown out three bags of garbage. That's three bags less in my house!

    BBL.....off to clean more!

Okay, I finally did something I've been meaning to do for over a year. I started a blog. I liked blogging here, but there were some limitations, so I am moving my "Week on the Ranch" blog over to a new link (in my sig). Let's see if I can keep it up, though!

I really enjoyed (old-school) journaling, but when I stopped doing it here, I never picked it up anywhere else. I created a blog site, but never used it. No more. Put my first post in today, and will try to blog at least once per week.

Dean - I've changed my mind, and I now don't want to change weathers with you.

Labontet - When I call you by name, I'll say "Cheryl" from now on. It's easier to remember than your username. I know somebody with your name.
Don't be concerned about "what to say"...just say whatever is on your mind. We're here to support one another in any way possible.

Over the last few days it's been taking f.o.r.e.v.e.r. for pages to load on FV. And only on FV. Anyone else having problems?

Dean - Rio is so cute! And your new shelves are nice.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
