Hi, all! :wave2: I haven't posted in a couple days and there is no way I can catch up with all the posts! That's the good thing about this thread though...you can always jump back in! You've all been in my thoughts and prayers. :)

Yesterday I went to a sports store and bought myself a much-needed pair of running shoes and winter boots for myself and DD1. The last pair of running shoes were given to me from my friend's friend...for free. The new pair of running shoes were $49.99...regular $89.99. The winter boots I've been wearing on snowy days are cold and make my feet damp. I bought those on clearance out of desperation from Wal-Mart last winter. The boots I bought yesterday are Columbia and $79.99...regular $99.99. DD2's winter boots were $16...regular $59.99. I'm so excited to have some new, good-quality footwear!! I also got some new socks and paid a few extra dollars for them to look a little nicer (not just plain black). I need to start to care more about how I feel...even if it's thru warmer shoes/boots and cozier socks. These last couple days my SI has been higher since my running shoes actually look nice...and not all browny gray from too much wear.

DH had an appointment with a specialist this afternoon. He didn't get any answers, but they're going to investigate further. He has another appointment in a month. Without giving details, can you ladies please pray that the problem isn't serious and that the doctor(s) can figure out what the problem is? K?

There has been so much happening these past couple of days. Whenever something of interest happens, I think..."I've got to remember it for the Self Image thread.". Now I'm having a hard time remembering.

I took pics (but am typing on my BlackBerry and can't post them), but I got 4 packs of batteries and a big pack of Maynard candies for free yesterday and the day before thanks to SCOP! Woohoo! No need to stock up on batteries like we needed to for a while longer.

After talking with a few daycare providers, I've decided to consider taking on a family needing care from June onwards. I have an opening as of this coming September, but if I can find a family to fill the space in June or later I'll really consider it. The only problem is that I'll have to bump the little girl leaving in September earlier than the parents want. I've got to think of this from a business sense as well. Take on a family in June and have their child for two to three years or risk not filling the space in September. One of the providers has space in the summer, so IF I were to take on a family in June then I could pass my current family their number. We'll see what happens.

BBL! :D

Hubby asked me this afternoon, if I wanted the propane furnace turned back on. I said NO. Leave the outside wood furnace on. He wanted to know who was going to load it when he is on crutches. I told him I WOULD. So what if I put in little logs and 2 times a day filling. ( he loads it once ) Then I made mention probably one of the neighbors would fill it for us, if we asked. He hates to ask for help. Then he wanted to know when the current tank of propane went on, for the kitchen stove. I told him, give me 5 minutes, I have it wrote in my daily log for the electric kwh. So I told him middle of July. And that other tanks have lasted us more than 7 months, so don't touch that either. One of the son's could change that over if need be. I think I may have to hide his crutches for that first week so he don't sneak outside. SIGH. Probably hide his truck keys also. I want him to heal without any more injuries. I think I better start a grocery list so I don't have to run to town for anything. So he can't get into mischief while I am gone. Going to be a very long month +
You may want to say a prayer for him....he is going to have to live with a old cranky lady 24/7 with no escape route.......

For fun tonight I played wth my eye makeup! I tried different looks on each eye, washed it off, and then tried something else. I also sorted through some older products and threw questionable things away. I really wish that I could get the smoky eye down pat without any flakiness, etc. I wear contacts and hate to get eyeshadow in my eyes. Oh, I forgot that I have a primer that I could have put on first...oh, well, maybe next time I'm in the mood to play I'll remember it.

I've been switching out my purses lately too 'cause what's the point of having them if I never use them. I've switched out some of my scarves too, but haven't done that a lot 'cause it hasn't been cold enough here. I'm working on rotating my jackets around too which is fun. I really need to redo my whole closet and dump the stuff that gets used rarely or not at all. It's also hard to get at my shoes so I need a plan for that. I forget about what I have. Jeans need to be purged 'cause I'm probably never going to fit into all of them nor would I want to and I find myself wearing the same favorites anyway. Y'all may remember that I'm a jeans addict...we won't talk about how many I have...some of you may remember anyway...hehehe. I think I'm going to get rid of my blazers 'cause I never wear them. Actually I think all five of us have coats that I could get rid of. Well, speaking of getting rid of things, I'm sure all five of us have lots and lots of things we could get rid of...now if only I had some help! I'd like to minimize!

My Dad tried out a new recipe and brought this AMAZING soup over for our dinner! He also brought Mississippi Mud brownies with vanilla ice cream for dessert! God, it was sooooo good! Glad that my Mom and I walked together yesterday and today. Walking is the only exercise I've done in days. It was supposed to be in the 60's today, but when she and I were walking, it had to be over 70 degrees. We were both hot and sweaty! Where is the winter weather? All of you must have it! LOL!

Anyway, I've got to go make two boys take a bath and shower! Why is it so hard to make boys bathe? Oldest is galivanting somewhere and fortunately I don't have to make him anymore...lol. Take care all!

Oh No! O's mom :hugz: I'm praying my friend. :hugz:

I don't want to tell you what to do, but maybe you should go to the ER.

Val - I don't know why it's so hard to make boys bathe. Maybe it's 'cause they like to be stinky. Who knows!

Just finished catching up on American Idol with DH. Looking forward to next week's show where elimination starts.

I'm going into the school tomorrow morning and listening to all the Grade 1's ans 2's say their poems. Parents are welcome to listen. Crossing my fingers that my four daycare kids act like gems and stay quiet the whole time. There are 13 Grade 1's, then DD1 is the fourth Grade 2 to go. If the daycare kids are getting too restless I'll leave after DD1 is done...unless I HAVE to leave earlier because of their behaviour. I hope DD1 does well. She's quite good, although I'm not sure if she'll be one of the top four to go on. I want to build her confidence up, but I don't want her hopes to be smashed. DH was telling her he thinks she'll be one of the winners. Afterwards I told him that he shouldn't say that in case she isn't. Being a mom is a HARD job! I just hope she isn't too disheartened if she's not one of the top four. KWIM?

Guess I should hit the hay. Tomorrow will be here before I know it! :)

O's Mom - That's really scary. You need to be checked out asap! Please go to ER!...If not, be on your doctor's doorstep the second they unlock those doors in the morning. You don't want any more mini strokes on top of the one you may have already had!

Morning ladies! Everything has shipped here at work, so today is kind of a relaxing day. I still have stuff to do, my desk to clean up and organize, papers to file, etc., but it's going to be a mellow day! Lots of people took today off. We start phones next week. We have to answer calls from users. I kinda like it, lots of people hate it. It's just for a few months, so it's not too bad.

oheoh - I agree with everyone else, I certainly hope you went to the ER last night....

QM - Good luck to your DD! I hope your daycare kids are good so you can stay and listen!

MM - How are you feeling today?

Polly - Good to hear from you. Glad your face is clearing up. I hope all is going well with you!

Deb - Glad to hear you had a nice birthday. I hope things settle down for you.

dean - Thanks for the days! I do love to watch nascar. My dad and I watch it together, he is in AZ and me here! Sometimes I call him to ask him questions about different things, I think he likes when I do that! Father/daughter time across the miles...

gapeach - So glad your test results came back negative. Great job on renting your house. That has to be a big relief.

FW - Looking forward to Sunday! It's supposed to be a nice day!

Well, I'm going to get to cleaning and organizing my desk. I hope everyone has a great day. Hugs and prayers to all!

O's Mom, you are scaring me. Yes, please go to the ER right away, and do whatever they tell you too. :hugz: I want you to be well, happy and whole. Please let us know what they say, and if I can help you in ANY way, please don't hesitate to ask. :hugz:

Hello all!

Oheoh--take care of yourself! Listen to what the doctor says!!

FW--you can come and stay with me! My DH is gone, and the only other male is my son, and we never see him, because he's always in his room. I'm sure we'd have lots of fun together!

Deb--glad your birthday was good! You take care of yourself, too!

QM--hope the kids behaved for you! :)

Polly--glad to hear your skin is feeling better! A new haircut is always nice, too!

Val--way to go on switching up the wardrobe! I find that I grab the same things over and over, and everything else gets pushed to the back of the closet.

Tervs--enjoy your easy day! You deserve it! :hugz:

LTD--good luck with your DH! :)

hmcart--prayers for your DD and her friend's family

Went book shopping today for the library! So much fun to spend someone else's money on books!

We also went to look at yarn at Zellers (department store), and I got a lesson on the different types, and what you use for different things. I got a couple of balls of a purple cotton, and will use that to try to make some dishcloths. I spent the afternoon on Monday, teaching myself how to knit, using the internet. It was easier than I thought it was, that's for sure!

Now DD & I have to run out to get some ink for our printer, and I really need to put some gas in my van!

Have a great afternoon, everyone!

Afternoon ladies! I decided to take the afternoon off of work, so I left at 1:15. I decided that since I was doing that I had to be productive, so I came home and cleaned up my kitchen and did 3 loads of laundry! I have 1 more to put in the dryer and it's all done. Well, I suppose I could do my rugs, maybe this weekend. I want to head down to the basement for 15 or 20 minutes to work on that a bit, just waiting for the tylenol to take effect on my knees! LOL They are sore today!

Oheoh - I am glad you called the doctor, but at the first sign, you head to the ER! Please! Thanks! :)

madkat - Sounds like you had a fun day shopping! It's always way more fun spending other people's money!

FW - It is a very gloomy and depressing day. Sorry it is affecting you and your family. I hope you feel better soon...

Madhen - great line! Love it!

A2M, polly, val - I hope you are having a good day!

Well, the dryer just buzzed, time to put my last load in there. Then I'm going to head down the basement for a bit. I hope everyone has a great night! Hugs and prayers to all!

nuisance26-sorry your little one is in the terrible twos- lookslike you do alot ofhealthy and organic so you may not have to i check but watch for red dyes,- and its in alot and anything orange and purple most likely has red dye in it too - sometimes even vitamins some yogurts or hot dogs and bologna have it . my youngest would act like a not scared of anything tempermental kid when he had some red dye until we figured out what was happening when he was a little over 2
hmcart- so sorry for your dds loss of a friend . my 20 yo has gone thru the losses of a few friends siblings, and a friend since she graduated high school , its sad :(
polly - glad your skin is feeling better . i can only use 100% pure cosmetic grade shea butter or emu oil on my face as of right now . your haircut sounds cute !!

FW - sorry for things at home . :( people who dont have migraines have no idea how light little noises annoyance etc make them worse .

Val - i think you are right to be upset even if he hated his job its not what a responsible head of household should do- to quit with no back up plan especially when you have children to support . who cares about insurance ?? what a thing to say - easy to say when its only needed for little things - but how many people who jhave had bad things happen medically knew they were going to happen ... very few and if kids are school aged many cant play on sports teams etc without insurance . Something he needs to think about instead of having some sport of temper tantrum about it .
Hugs to everyone :)
i had a good day saw 8 pts and did them by 3 . then i came home and a few min ago sync my work schedule and even though one of my pts req me they gave them to someone else who i know gets paid more per vs that i do and doesnt do any adm - which now has me mad .
and then they scheduled me a pt that i use to case manage whose wife knew i was off that day and in PA visiting my dying grandmother yet she called and threatened me in an VM and cursed at me and then left 2 more VM which i deleted without even listening too and told her she needs to call the office - i saw him ONCE in 2 weeks and an issue that had nothing to do with me but with the office ordering supplies was blamed on me .

so i emailed my supervisor and the weekend supervisor and declined it and told them why and they had better not send it back or i will quit. i have neverrefused to see anyone before but if i go there and that woman says one thing the wrong to me it wont be pretty .

good news .. dh background check went thru fast and he starts his new job monday wont get a pay until the 24th but i did taxes and we are getting a return about = to the missing check and i think it may get direct deposited mid month .

and ds got a job offer today big company in center city ( great for his age theres alot to do after work in the city ) a slightly different type of work then he does now but they will train him and its a nice raise for him too woo hoo . he just needs to take a drug test and have the background check done .

and the state has taken over the company and has hired jordan to work the next week for them at his regular pay rate.

M25rn-sounds like its coming together for your guys. I imagine relatives of people sick are the hardest to deal w/. I admit i was a bit rough on the staff at times. Of course when the visiting nurse cancelled on us 2x when DH had to have his clotting factor checked as he has protein c deficiency and just had 12 surgeries might have been diff.lol Sorry she was so rude, I would be suprised if you got into trouble. No doubt she will give someone else trouble too.

LB-I just wish i had a more mature spouse? He asked me later if i was mad at him or something? And did I want to go to IHOP w/ his GC? Now he went birthday shopping. Who knows what mood i will get tonight.
As for my Dmom she sides w/ my DH no matter what the situation?

Thanks guys prob. just a case of the winter blues/birthday blues?.

OH'smom-I can't help it I am mad at you. I unfortunately care about the folks on here and you are not taking care. Please. GO.

My daycare kids behaved exceptionally well this morning during the poems considering they had to sit there for about 45 minutes quietly. I gave the baby (17 month old) her soother. I pulled out some crackers and Bits N Bites halfway thru the time. DD1 wasn't one of the top four chosen. But I'm sure she was very close. (Kind of like deja vu. That always happened to me. haha!) Her score sheet was 62/65! Very good if you ask me! Before leaving the school (after her poem) I whispered in her ear what an amazing job she did, not to be too disappointed if she's not one of the top four and that I'd buy her a chocolate bar as a reward for her hard work. That made her happy. She even journaled about it in her planner saying tha she wanted a 2 pack Mars bar.

I started a new thread. I have a daycare dilemma. Instead of posting it all on this thread I'll share the link in case you don't see it in FV. http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums...terminating-good-standing-daycare-family.html Feel free to comment on the thread. :)

This evening DH and I plan on watching the last "Chuck" ever. It's taped on our PVR. We'll probably have a couple drinks in remembrance of this good show.

BBL! :D
