    Evening everyone....

Polly - sorry you have been sick my friend. I have been meaning to tell you that since Ds is gone to school, I have slowly been changing his room into my food pantry (one corner) and a dressing room for myself! I have been re-vamping my wardrobe and I am finding awesome deals at GW and the thrift stores lately....it has become MY room...our bedroom is very small and the closet smaller and Dh thinks I am cute how I am making it all 'pretty'.

dean - I am sorry to hear your neck is still paining you so bad! The days are slowly shrinking....and I hope the pain will too. Soon you will be relaxing my the pool...hang on there my friend!

gapeach - sorry to hear you are both sick again! I hope the antibiotics work this time and clear it up for good. Funny on the ironing..I use to be like that when Ds was small. P.S. enjoying a chocolate chip cookie myself right now with my tea!

janie - nice to hear from you! I too have been snacking more at night which is not good..I need to STOP it! I haven't been gaining any weight but I don't like to fall into such a bad habit.

tervs - enjoy the snow! I too don't mind winter..even the bitter cold...but today it just seemed colder....I guess since the temps have been so mild this year until today! Enjoy your tea....I am enjoying mine right now...I couldn't live without it!

FW - your Dh sounds like mine when handling customer service people...it is just soooo embarrasing! I have totally forgotten about Valentine's Day! Shows you how much it means to me! Oh wow, it is in just a couple of days!

OM - sorry to hear about your Dh's tools! Not good at all. I hope you rest well and enjoy the tub!

Well off to do some crocheting and watching The Mary Tyler Moore Show.....we are now getting it on a new channel on tv and I had forgotten how much I liked it! Hugs and prayers to all!
    Dh Bob FIL

    So get this...

DH and I come home tonight. He takes off his shoes and sits on the couch. I catch a whiff of a smell. We start talking about different things and in the middle of the conversation I ask him if his socks are stinky. He says I dunno, tries to pull his foot to his nose but can't, asks ME to smell them! I say NO. I'm wondering why he doesn't just pull one sock off and smell it. I ask if he needs foot spray. He calls me crazy, says it must be dinner I'm smelling(???) He's getting irritated with me. He has to go somewhere but says when he gets home he'll take off his socks and make me smell them. I say if you do, there will be much blood and bruising to follow. (not really, people!) I tell him go smell his shoes. He asks me why (seriously!?!) He finally goes and gets his shoes and he's looking at one, and guess what. Cat poop. I knew it! I told him I have a good nose, and he needs to apologize for calling me crazy. By now he's more irritated because he has to scrub cat sh** off his shoe. I'll never get that apology but I feel vindicated!! Ha!

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;

end of the world is evidently approaching.”

JUST don't blame me for the cholesterol! lol
I think you will need to read up on the diabetic diet she is kiiling herself. That kind of sugar is stroke, heart attack, renal failure and coma level. I know they hospitalized me at 380 last April

DEAR starr-why don't they just change those socks and lysol those shoes. And the whole scene sounds like one that would happen at my address.lol Dh has almost NO sense of smell. (could it be because his sister cold cocked him w/ a baseball bat as a kid and drunk mommy dearest didn't take him IN TO THE HOSP.?? hmmm but I digress) We are always argueing over smells. I UN fortunately have a great nose too. Big yea!
Anyway at least you found the cause. The other way is maddening. And yes I vote for an apology.

Night all. This new book is a fascinating look into the Eskimo/inupiut (sp) culture from the inside out. Nothing about this lifestyle is familiar. The only thing i don't like is the author threw all the eskimo words is the book and gave you a glossary at the front. I am ruining the paperback going back and forth.lol I am NOT anal! I just like books pristine.

Compared to everyone else, everything has been disgustingly well over here. Seriously, nice days, opportunities to get outside and get some sunshine and exercise, and puppies to greet me when I come home. I can't ask for much more, and I'm happy with what I have.

Best wishes to those of you sailing on stormy seas right now. Hope you get a few calm days to re-stock and re-assess. Thinking of you all and sending positive karma your way.

Good morning folks! This cold is getting worse not better. I will try and do FIL's laundry today. Usually just two or three loads worth for him. Dinner will be sloppy joes. Otherwise just lots of rest and naps.

Take care everyone and have a good weekend.

A2M-feel better. Sounds like what everyone had. Start popping vit.C and orange juice. It went fluish at the end. Yuck.
I think I will copy dinner.yum. I have a lot of hamb I just got at Sams club.

It is wicked cold here today and i have the hiccups (just for fun)
My MIL heater was lit 4x last night until i finally went to bed at 4am! The wind was howling and no one was up. Just the perfect night to snuggle and read a book. But this morning it is still and cold.We got about 4-5 inches last night/yesterday.
I got a towel stuffed in the door to outside and one in front and the heater still cant catch up. Just put on the floor space heater for awhile. Should brew some tea. I could heat from the inside out!

Hope everyone fairing well. Mackey seem happier on the pills but stoned. and I think thats why he is a chewing machine!
Gotta work on the kitchen in a bit. DD has a bday party for BF's niece.

This post made me smile, FW2. Until I kept on reading and figuring it out, I thought you said he shouldn’t take the drug test for the new job. You got me to wondering why.
Wouldn’t it be lovely to clone ourselves so we have a maid and we could rest more! Great idea! Haha!
Sorry to hear that your DH acted like an a$$ when the cable company came over. That would be so embarrassing. What can you do? Just keep remembering that you can’t change your hubby, but you can change yourself and how you react to how he behaves.
Your dog sure chews A LOT! Have you ever thought of buying him a deer antler? We bought one for about $10 at PetSmart for our puppy. They last a long time, keep them busy and away from your precious furniture! Seriously, you should think about buying one to see if it works. The second you see your dog go for the furniture or wall, bring him to the deer antler instead.
I checked out all your free McD’s printable coupons, but they’re all for the States! Oh well! I didn’t need them anyways!

madkat2618 – Sorry to hear about your DS’s failing grades in math. How old is he anyway? Probably old enough to track his own grades a bit I would guess. It almost always seems that no matter what we decide for the kids, etc when the hubby is away is never good enough. Had you gone to the math teacher and everything like your DH though you should, he probably would have said he wanted it done another way. You can’t win! Let’s just face it!

Tervsie – Snow is bad! Why do you want snow? There is no benefit to the white fluffy stuff! I was enjoying having spring-like weather all winter. Now we have a few centimetres in the ground. It’s horrible!

A2M – I’m sorry you and your DH are sick. Get well soon! Just saw your most recent post before posting this one. I see that your cold is getting worse. Sleep lots and get rest as much as possible.
This week we’ve been eating more out of our stockpile. You can definitely see the difference! I hope your grocery bill isn’t too high.

O’s Momma – Please don’t think of your grandma as lazy when it comes to her toileting. It sounds like she’s a very sick and old and confused woman. I can’t imagine caring for an elderly person myself. I don’t mind visiting them, singing to them and talking to them, but EVERYTHING else I just couldn’t do. You are a wonderful granddaughter for caring for her day in and day out. Just keep treating her as you would want someone to treat you if you were in that stage of life. Our turns will come before we know it...sadly enough...unless the Lord comes for his Saints before then.
I’m sorry to hear that all your DH’s tools were stolen at the job. Just what you needed! I’m sure it’ll cost a lot of money to buy them again. Definitely keep all the receipts to claim everything.

Debbie – Don’t worry about the coffee. In the past few months not only have you tackled a healthier eating lifestyle and lost lots of weight, but you’ve also cut out smoking! That in itself is AMAZING! Stick to getting used to that for a couple years then maybe start thinking about cutting back on the coffee.
What I’ve noticed helps is drinking boiled water. It “feels” like coffee because it’s warm or hot, but it doesn’t have the same effect...which is a good thing!

Polly – Those are really good goals that you posted. They all seem attainable. Just pace yourself. Especially since you’re getting over a cold.
Good to hear that your DH is stepping up to the plate and doing something for Valentine’s Day. If you haven’t seen it, you’ll LOVE Courageous. Just make sure to bring a big box of Kleenex in your purse. Sit somewhere where your DH can feel free to cry and not feel like people are watching. We went to the movies to see it and DH cried in quite a few scenes...and he normally isn’t a cryer.

Dean – I hope your neck is starting to feel better. I want summer too. You and I are on the same page. Summer is the best. You can just throw on your sandals and walk outside as is. It’s wonderful!

Gapeach – You’ve been sick too? I’m still fighting the cold/illness I’ve had since mid-November. This is the longest cold I’ve EVER had. We just need to all get better for once and for all!
My Grandma (mom’s mom) used to iron everything too. I’m sure it wasn’t from boredom, but I didn’t get why everything like you mentioned needed to be ironed. You could use that extra time to just sit back and have a cup of tea.

MM – Where are you?! Is everything okay?

Star – That was a funny story about your DH trying to get you to sniff the socks ON his feet! Men! They’re sometimes SO stupid! What do they think we are?...Maids?...that need to sniff their feet before changing THEIR socks!

JanieD – I don’t know if this will help, but I’d suggest for you to make a meal plan. The night before sit down and figure out what you will “allow” yourself to eat and snack on the next day. Just having something to look forward to and having a plan might help you tremendously.

Madhen – Wanna trade weather today!?

DH got back from his business trip yesterday. For whatever reason (maybe just the fact that he was coming home) he was in a good mood. He swung by at the LCBO and phoned to ask me if I wanted him to buy me a box of wine or a Baileys...with his own spending money!! I told him a box of wine. Haven’t had any yet because when he came home he told me that he’d be okay to go to the “Date Night Challenge” at that church. So we went. We had a nice time. Not a romantic date because the tables were lined up and we were sitting with friends. We had lasagna, salad and bread for supper....cake for dessert. Coffee was decaf which really sucked. Maybe it’s just me but it’s considerate to make BOTH decaf and regular. We watched the 2 hour movie-thing thru Focus on the Family. It was really nice. DH was tired though I could tell because he had been away for four days and just needed rest.

By the time we left there it was coming onto 10. We didn’t get home until 10:30ish. The girls were in bed by 10:50. Very late night for them! On the ride home, DD2 kept complaining about her stomach and that she needed to poo. Once we got home she went to the washroom and had diarrhea. When I went to check on her before going to bed, the room stunk! I checked her pants and she had had diarrhea again but this time while sleeping! I cleaned her up and while doing so she threw up in the toilet...a lot! Poor thing! So I put her in the guest room with me and slept with me. In the night she woke up, so I asked her if she needed to poo again. She said yes, and guess what?!...More diarrhea in her underwear! She needs a good bath today and the guest room bedsheets need to be changed for fear she has contaminated them with her germs. Hopefully now I don’t get what she has since she breathed on me all night. Had to cancel her going to a birthday party today from 10 a.m. to noon. She’ll bring the little boy’s gift to school on Monday.

So today will be spent cleaning up. DH is still sleeping; it’s 10:29. I slept in until 9 a.m., but my night was all broken up and cleaning up diaherra. So I don’t count that as really sleeping in...just catching up on the sleep I didn’t get!

Well, guess I should sign off! I’ve been on the computer for quite a while trying to catch up a bit! Love and thoughts being sent your way! You’re all in my prayers.

DS2 just got an acceptance letter as an AJ Drexel SCholar to drexel U in phlly great school for engineering - got a 18,500 a year scholarship ... but to go there is over 40,000 and thats living at home ;(
it would cost about 10$ a day for train and subway to get there and an hour ride . but 10000 more to live there !!

i dont want to say no to him he is soo smart and its well known for its engineering programs and work.study program. i am hoping he decides on his own its too much loans for him.which we would need to.cosign.IF we even could. he got into a $$ prep elite high school too. in 8th grade but decided not to go becuase he didnt want to be on busses all day for that school - i think he really just wanted to be able to say he got in . hoping its the same with this

because he is in top 15% of his class ( he is at ~ 6% ) he can go to our county college free for up to 5 semesters. just fees and books .if he keeps his grades up he goes to state college after that up to 1/2 his tuition would be paid each year.

our oldest graduated from a state college.with almost 80 grand in loans. .billy would have less than 1/4 of that if he did this program. . rowan has a great engineering program. even 4 years at rowan if he lived at home would be about half of going to drexel. but i want it to be his decision .

i printed out the text in i think its Greebos signature about going to a 4 year college with 20000 a year loans you end up owing over 100000 and if you work and pay and go 5 or 6 years end up making money - he can do 4 years and end up ahead if he works PT along the way and banks alot of it .

Dh and FIL took one look at me and said "Do laundry on another day." So, I will just rest today and if I am not up to making dinner we will spring for a deal at the pizza parlor.

OM, so sorry about your dh's tools being stolen too. It is hard being a caretaker. It does sound as if perhaps grandma is now ready to make the next step to a nursing home. Enjoy dinner out on Valentine's. It is not where you go, but that you have quality time together and that you get a night out of the kitchen. Dh and I have one night a week that I do not have to cook and we cannot afford fancy restaurants, so we eat at fast food with coupons and I am fine with that. I don't have to cook or clean the kitchen and dh and I get alone time away from the house.

QM, your poor daughter sounds so sick. I hope that the rest of the family doesn't catch what she has.

FW & MT5, It sounds like both of your families have some big financial decisions coming up.

Well, dh will want the computer to read his e-mail and look at the news.

I will be resting and napping all day.

BTW, QM try adding a slice of lemon to the boiling water. So tasty and very good for the digestive system.

Sorry for not answering everyone's posts. A big hello to all!

Morning all! It's a beautiful, sunshiney day here today! Took Blue to the vet this morning to get a Rabies shot, will be meeting some friends for lunch today. Just thought I would stop in and say Hi before I go! I'll try to catch up with everyone later! Hugs!
