Yesterday, I ate 2 bananas and had one cup of butternut squash and one cup of broccoli with cheese sauce.

Went to Jack's Urban Eats for lunch with my sister and mother. I managed to find the ONE item on the menu (shame, shame, Jack's) that was vegetarian. It was delicious, btw, but it would have been nice to have had options. My sister and mother both got club sandwiches and pronounced them tasty. I had a portabella/artichoke sandwich. We all split one order of garlic fries (also tasty).

So again, today, no meat and the only dairy was the Half and Half in my coffee, and I'm running very low on that! I think it will be used up in a day or two.

Made it through 2/5 with no meat. I made one of my Dagwood sandwiches, and the vegan mayo is pretty good! The sour cream did not taste or look much like sour cream, though, so I may have to shop around on that one. I used a brand called "Vegan Gourmet." No big deal, since I rarely, almost never, use sour cream anyway.

Used up the last of my Half and Half in my coffee this morning, so after today, no dairy!

I'm on target, I've gotten sidetracked though and haven't posted. I'm sorry. But I'm good for all days up to and including day 6. I've met my water challenge.

I've gotten a little side tracked too. I have not posted every day, but I have had one serving sometimes more of fruit a day.

Still vegetarian. I find that the few times I want meat, it is more because it is part of a routine than because I actually want the taste of meat. I can't say I'll never have meat again, but I don't think I will have a problem avoiding it for a month.

It turns out that I have part of a pint of whipping cream in the fridge, so I am using it up in my coffee. It has an expiration date of today, so I didn't want to waste it. So, I still had cream in my coffee today, but I am pretty sure the cream will be used up by the end of the week, if not sooner.

Had my first smoothie flop today: almond milk, frozen peaches, and carrots. The carrot taste was overwhelming, and the carrots didn't puree so much as just grate, so they were still chewy. Oh, well, I have to expect a flop now and then!

I may go back to Half and Half for my coffee. I have been using the non-dairy creamer, thinking I was avoiding DAIRY (since it is called "non-dairy," silly me). I don't really like it, and I don't like the idea of the chemicals in it, but I was willing to suck it up for the month and use it. But this morning, I read the ingredients, and it has "milk derivative" in it. So, in other words, they still needed a cow to make the stuff, which sort of defeats my intent. I am going to look for a local source of cream, but until then, once I use up the creamer, I'm probably going to go back to Half and Half.

Well that stinks But I'm a big fan of cream I think you'll really enjoy your coffee with cream fresh from the farm. We've a local farm here that does not use growth hormones, and well...they have happy cows. You know, the farmers that name their cows, and when you go to the farm those little, well big charmers will come up to you for an ear scratch. Makes me happy when I go there. They have the BEST cream there, makes the best butter, and the best prices! $7.50 a gallon!

So Day 14, met my water goal.

Still maintaining. We had an emergency call out yesterday morning, and I ended up having to be a passenger in someone else's car all day. We stopped once for lunch, and it was at a Carl's Jr. I ordered just fries, nothing else. When we came to rest for the evening, everyone went out to eat at another burger joint. I begged off and walked to a grocery store near the hotel and picked up some fruit and crackers (not to mention, a toothbrush and change of clothes), so I'm set for what looks like another long day today.

Now that's commitment MadHen! I've never heard of Carl Jrs. That's real slim vegetarian pickings there, wow. It's sounds like you're going to be having a bit of a rough go for awhile.

So it's Day 16, going strong on the water.
