    Default Confirmed back issues

I Got the MRI results back yesterday. I have a couple of bulging discs, at least one (possibly 2) schmorl's node, and an annular tear. I have been released to go back to work, but waiting for Dr. to sign and send note to work. They seemed nervous letting me back to work with these issues. I initially hurt myself at work from all the wear and tear, but it took me twisting the wrong way to really make things bad and I was at home.

I think it would be a good idea to start looking for some help with schooling so I can get out of this line of work. I had money aside for phlebotomy classes but now I had to spend it on the Dr and MRI for my back. I have lousy insurance at work and not sure if I will get reimbursed or not. I had a feeling things were getting bad because of the pain but now I have proof. At least the people starting rumors at work can kiss my fanny now. :p

Oh no! What is the doctor wanting to do? Is he talking surgery? Sorry to hear this. Back pain is horrible.

Yeah, back pain sucks. Find some stretching exercises on the internet and do them faithfully. They will help.

Hugs..Did you fill out a incident report at work? If this happened at the job they have to pay for it (although they will take thre time)..keep all receipt's for prescriptions, Dr office visit's even mileage..YOU SHOULD NOT BE WORKING.. the Dr should have put you out immediantly sp?...he can be held accountable! Also remember the facility is not looking out for you! I wish you the best.

I dont really understand your issue so take my advice with a grain of salt. I ruptured 3 disks years ago and refused surgery and instead did very intensive PT. After a few years there was horrid pain that kept me in bed. I had 2 opinions on surgery and they both said without it I would not be walking eventually.

I started seeing a chiro as a last resort. I have been with her 7 years now and still have not had the spinal fusion. Besides her adjustments she got me into yoga and the BIGGIE for me is daily inversion therapy. I do my inversion at home. That has made such a massive difference.

Thank you for the support and advice. I am sure the injury started at work, but the official "back went out" happened at home. So it is too late to claim it as a work injury. I had been moving furniture at home and a couple days later about to get into my car, pain shot through my back and that was it!
I am not getting surgery. I am working with a massage therapist and chiropractor. I got the "ok" to go back to work from my doctor. Now I am waiting to hear back from work. I need the money!
Meanwhile I will be looking to get some grants for school since I don't think this job is a good thing for me long-term.

Ask your chiro about inversion. My table cost me about $300 4 years ago but is worth every penny. They are around $100 now.

I hope you get some relief soon. Hang in there!

    Back to edit:

Another thing that really helped me also was EMS if your chiro uses it.

I am another fan of inversion. I tried everything for my back pain, epidural shots, chiropractor, physical therapy...and it wasn't until I started inversion therapy recently that I actually started feeling results- it's amazing. I think core exercises and daily stretching in combination with inversion did the trick for me. I do it every day, at least twice a day. Best investment for my back. Just my 2 cents.

I hope you find some relief without surgery.

FYI..using this can cause more damage/pain than the original injury..ask the Dr before using one.
