Default March "Feel the Love" Health Challenge

Last month, I ate vegetarian the whole month. I did it to give my body a break, even though it was just a small one, from the abuse I heap upon it on a daily basis.

This month, I will let my body know I still love it and want it to stick around, by finding the time to floss my teeth EVERY day. (I currently rarely find time to floss. I was lucky enough to be born with good teeth/gums, and I take them for granted.)

What are you willing to do for a month, to help your body help YOU to stay healthy and well?

Last month I ate at least one fruit a day. This month I will eat at least one veggie a day. I am a super carb lover. I love veggies too, but the rest of the family does not care for them too much, so sometimes I slack and do not have them each day.

I'm going to track what I eat every day for March. Hopefully that will make me realize when I'm making poor choices (like today's peanut butter & jelly sandwich for breakfast - 468 calories!).

Well, after setting this challenge up for myself, I promptly forgot to floss my teeth until this morning. So...slow start, but hopefully leading to a strong finish!

This month I would like to indulge more of...oatmeal, bananas, and peanut butter! Such a wonderful combo together.

Sticks to the ribs and something fun about dipping the nana in it.

So glad you're doing it this month too MadHen

Last month I did more water, this month I want to continue with the water and make sure greens are part of my diet in some way everyday. I've kept up with the water so far this month, but not the greens. just 4 days out of 6, but today's not over yet.

I am totally sucking at this challenge this month. I have to spend some time today rearranging the bathroom in such a way that I am reminded to floss. I keep thinking I'll do it at night, before bed, and then I forget until the next morning.

I gave up junk food and potato chips last month when I renewed my 'Lose a lb a week challenge'. So far I have dropped approximately 11 lbs (I say approximate because I only guessed at my weight when I started getting serious about this)...

For the most part I eat very healthy and very few calories for meals. I don't really require much to keep going. But it's the snack habit that I have that does me in every time. And having a friend that keeps me supplied in all the chips, cookies, crackers that I can consume for free (he's a chip distributor and he gives me all the stuff that has been pulled from stores reaching expiration dates for FREE) ~ well it's a total detriment to my waistline.

Today I picked up 10 cases of chips, pretzels, cookies from him. But they are going straight to my mom's retirement home for their movie nights. I am NOT keeping them here! (Not to mention I have about 10 cases of this stuff already stockpiled in my laundry room) somehow I have managed to stay out of everything for the past month ~ WOOHOO!

So July will be another month of just saying no to junk food. And I am going to Vegas next week - so my plan is to eat mainly what I have packed along with me and supplementing with salads....

That is my health challenge for the month!

“After the last tree has been cut down, after the last river has been poisoned, after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money can't be eaten.”
