Drgnfly423's Journal
Hi everyone! Thought I would start this forum out with a bang...ok maybe a wimper. I don't really have a specific diet plan or weight goal (ok, but I know I shouldn't rely on the scale). I'm just trying to eat healthy and get 90 minutes of deliberate exercise a week. Hopefully we can inspire and motivate each other to be the best and do our best every day to work towards our healthy goals.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm off to a horrible start if we're starting today - I had a 3-day old chocolate donut (cake style with icing) for breakfast with a cup of coffee with almond-toffee creamer (not the no-fat kind) and then forgot to eat lunch entirely and had a microwaveable-container of tomatoe soup (heat and go or something like that) at 3:30. I'm dying to leave and go eat. I'll make sure dinner is healthier. Not sure whether it counts as exercise, but I helped move all the tables for our X-mas party tomorrow and moved the furniture in my going-to-be office.

Sorry for hijacking this diary but Edna, if you can start your food diary and a not-so-great day then you'll be off to a good start... not hiding away when you're not "doing well" is as good a motivational tool as all those "perfect" days. It's harder to write it down at first but it helps get rid of the guilt that you have if you have a great week then pig out IYKWIM. It's kind of like you've blotted your copy book at the start so your starting point is something you know you can work on... if any of that makes sense.

Thanks everyone!
I should add to yesterday. One chocolate chip cookie! Woops. =)
I wish we were able to edit our previous posts. It would make it easier to track accurately throughout the day.
Anyway...I'll be posting another official entry tonight ...good luck everyone!

This weekend were both "S" days for me. Yesterday was my sisters birthday so lots of cake for me! I think this week will be the most challenging to stick to. Lots of goodies to eat at work and home! I have had success so far today. No snacking, no sweets, that's what it's all about!

Yeah! I hope you like it too. He has a whole website devoted to changing habits in a simple way. I feel it really compliments how I try to live my life.
I forgot tonight is Bunco night! Ahhhhhh.....lots of sweets. Hopefully someone will bring some "real" food. =)
Other than that challenge coming up all's good. I ellipticized (my word for working out on the elliptical) for 30 minutes. Feeling great!

Thanks for posting in my journal. I just wanted to say WTG on the elliptical, my sister has one, and I was on it for less than 5 minutes and it totally kicked my butt! Are you doing the 30 minutes at one time?
12-19-2007, 12:24 PM #13
I am doing all 30 minutes at once. It does kick butt! I definitely have to change pace to keep going for 30 minutes.
So guess I forgot to log my progress for Monday so here is Monday and Tuesday condensed.
Success for both days! Woo Hoo! I'm really liking the No-S thing. And I'm down a pound!
Today is an elliptical day for me. With having to wrap presents and finish making presents it's going to be tough this next week to keep up with everything. I'll just keep telling myself, it's only 1/2 an hour of time. That's nothing, right?

So Wednesday and Thursday were Success day on No-S diet. Today was a "sometimes" day. So I'm going to make tomorrow an on plan day even though it's the weekend. Tomorrow will also be an elliptical day for me. I may try for 45 minutes. I have to keep challenging myself or I'll give up.

Made it through Christmas and only gained a couple pounds! Holy Cow...I'm still successfully doing No S and loving it. I'm back down a pound. I'm sure it was also from not drinking enough water over the long weekend. Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and will go again on Saturday. I have a friend visiting from out of town tomorrow night, so no time for exercise. I hope everyone else is having success of their own!
