Fair Exhibits.....Sheeesh!!!!!

I checked out our local fair exhibits. Unbelievable. I'm sorry but I have better looking things in my shed than they did in there.

The quilts were pretty but only about 15 of them on display. Competition is very low as there are not many entries.

One lady got a blue ribbon for cutting a few miniture marigolds and sticking them in a gord vase. Geeeez


Also the sewing on the quilts was very poor. I would of done a lot of back sewing on some of them. LOL

The Grand Champion was really good though. It was a lap quilt that had teapot apliques on it. But a quilting club did it together!

The organizer told me that exhibits should be made the same year as the fair but as long as they haven't ever seen them and I don't put them in year after year I can use old things that I have made. LOL Unreal huh?!

So I guess you all can tell by my disgust that I will be entering the fair exhibits next year. I will also get my friend in there that makes candles and see if we can walk away with a few blue ribbons!

How is the caliber of your fair exhibits. Do you feel the person entering should have won?

DD & I both won blue ribbons in crafts last year at the Illinois State Fair.... But the compitition was low.... Not to many anymore........
