HOORAY!! my first craft fair
I am doing my first craft fair this weekend. I mostly make beaded bracelets. I am doing it with a friend that I don't get to see very often so I know I will have a lot of fun. Does anyone have any advice for me. I wish I had a digital camera so I could psot a pic of my bracelets. They are made from glass beads. I really have no idea what tp charge for them yet. I have about $1.00-$1.50 invested in each one. The lady said she is expecting about 5 thousand people it is in a smaller town. I will have about 60 bracelets. I am also doing some rag wreaths. My friend makes patchwork scarves and purses. O h ya we also have parade sticks and halos for the kids. 0Wish me luck. I better get back to work on my crafts.

Good Luck!! You should do very well. The bracelets are popular, and I'm sure they are very pretty

Do a search on ebay, just to get an idea of what to charge.
How many days will the craft fair be? Start off a lil high and if they don't sell, you can always come down. I think at one time,a few years back,I bought 2 at a craft fair for $7 each maybe...or was it $10.....Oh I can't remember back that far but it was one price or the other lol
I wish you had a digital camera to so we can see them
Again--Good Luck and have fun with your friend

Having done a lot of craft shows myself, I also recommend great display! That will draw them in.

I agree, have a good display.
Make sure you have enough so you don't sell out right at the beginning. Could make for a very boring day.
Make sure you have lots of change. It never siezes to amaze me why people bring large bills when they only want to spend a small amount.
Have nice bags to put the bracelets in.
Have business cards made up (you can make your own if you have a printer). Even if you don't have a name for your business, people always like to have your name and phone number. (What we do is put a business card in each bag. You never know how much repeat business you'll get that way.)
Whatever you do, HAVE FUN!!! RELAX and ENJOY yourself. Don't get frustrated if you don't sell right off. There are always more craft sales.
Good luck!!

I'm so excited for you. We just attended our local fair. The newspaper reported the business was so good for the crafters (vendors) that 75% have already signed up for next year.
This was a 3 day fair and from what I heard and saw, Kiddie stuff went fast the 1st and 2nd days but on Sunday the adults did the shopping. Most vendors sold out on Sunday afternoon! Hope you do great!
I don't know what to charge either. Although I'm not sure if you are using wire or string or elastic? Makes a difference.
Let us know how it went.

They are wire. i make 7-10 links depending on the size of the bead and then link them together.I am getting so excited.I think I will put $7.00 on the adult ones and $5.00 on the little girls ones. I can go down if I need to. I found some red white and blue glass beads at Hobby Lobby and made some bracelets with them I think they will go fast. For a display I have covered a bulletin board with black velvet and i am hanging the bracelets on it with pins. Thanks for all the ideas.

Oh it was a horrible weekend. They put us about 6 blocks from all of the other booths and activities. There was only one other booth set up with us and they had a bad weekend too. We sold 6 halos and 5 parade sticks and that was it. I have never been so discouraged. That afternoon it rained and rain was in the forecast fro Sunday also so we didn't stay. I guess I willl be giving a lot of bracelets for xmas this year. Oh ya, before we left we took a walk around the other booths in the main part and a women was selling bracelets just like mine for $20.00 and she had a line, I had mine oriced for $7.00, but we just didn't get many lookers in the part we were at. I guess I will quit ranting and raving now sorry everyone.

I am sorry it didn't go well for you...... I discuss where I 'll be before I pay for my booth.... It is sometimes more for different booths, but I find that out and decide.... don't give up .... Try again.....

Oh mylittle4, I'm sorry it was such a bad weekend for you. I'm hoping you sell out on your next show. Try not to let it discourage you.
