Default Hey, wanna do some frugal crafts ??? new info added !

I have asked Sara and she thought it would be fine for me to do some crafting threads with pictures and directions..step by step sort of things.... I have a lot of them to share.... Lots of really inexpensive and quick things to do for the upcoming holidays....
What I would like to know is what sort of crafting supplies many of you have lying around and we will try to go from there, the cheapest way to craft is from what you already have......
Do you have lots of .... Jars, paint, fabric, claypots, coffee cans, straw hats....ect ect.....
    Let me know...
Remember I think almost anything is a crafting medium so put what ever you have... I will try to go with crafts that can use what many of you have.....
Believe it or not we will be making nice crafts out of such things as sticks, stones, paper and paper bags, lint, ect... I am sure we all have some of that......
I hope we have some fun and can craft together !!!!

Well, I am game for this but don't have much in the way of supplies. I do have a lot of Ball glass jars with lids (at least a dozen or so), some raffia, a little fabric, and a little bit of odds and ends around. Does that help any?

I don't have a whole lot of supplies myself- but I'm in too! I'll purchase what I need if you can give us a list of supplies ahead of time.

I have odd bits of fabric, and lots of yarn. I am attempting to make dish rags now. all I need is more patience to sit still and for my hands not to ache so much!

Have lots of fabric, buttons, ribbons, beads, artificial holly, flowers, glitter, construction paper, wooden cutouts, empty Pringle cans, paints, and batting. Did I say that I have a lot of fabric? LOL Sounds like a neat idea.

You name it and I probably have it. Anything from fabric and yarn (tons of each) acrylic and fabric paint, silk flowers, rhinestones and "jewels", buttons, lots of canning jars (all sizes), small baskets, raffia, small amount of filo clay, essential oils, glycerine soap (clear), craft sticks, candles, glitter, parafin wax, epsom salts, transfer paper (for the computer printer), ribbon, bias tape, rick rack ect... ect... ect....
I can't believe how much "STUFF" I have and this is only a part of it. I am a pack rat! Now I just need ideas of what to do with all this stuff! Help Lori!

I think this is a GREAT idea!

    This sounds fun!!

I have canning jars... lots of wood and all of the tools to work with it. Paints, frozen juice lids, Paraffin wax (sp?).

I have some real pretty pictures from a calendar of spices that I want to work into a craft somehow. Decoupage or something. There are 12 and they show a pic and tell a little about each spice.

I also have a nice cedar chest to refinish and such.

In a few weeks, I am going to do the Mason Jar Oil Lamps, you will a jar and lid, any jar will do.... something to out in the jars.... Potpourri, buttons, pinecones, ect..... a drill or hammer and nail to punch a hole in the lid, a three to five inch doily is a nice touch but not necessary, a scrap of fabric to go around the lid, and a piece of raffia, twine or jute to tie the tag on.... and a piece of FIBERGLASS wick (4-6 inches) and a GLASS wick holder..... I have the wick and wick holders, you could no doubt find them at a craft store.. they usually run about 2.00 each..... If you would like me to send you one or two I can.... I would just ask for 5- .37c (each) postage stamps to cover.... Just PM me.........
This is a photo of the glass wick holder you'll be needing....

I'm in on this! I really have wanted to learn to do this. I have the mason jar and lid, just need the wick. What kind of oil do we need? I'll pick everything up 40% off with coupons at Michaels or AC Moore.
