Basically, it's a hardcover book without the pages, some fabric attached on the sides and some handles. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. It's internationally syndicated through Universal Uclick. Thank you for supporting Frugal Village.

Ya know, they charge that much, because people will pay it. It's so easy these days to just buy something that you could have made your self with a little effort.
That's why I love this site. It has inspired me to become more crafty

Wow how neat. Love it, but I'm with Heaven, I'm not sure I could cut up a book either. Wonder how else you could do it.
I'm wondering if you could use cardboard and then glue a paper cover of a book on to that. Do you think it would work the same way. Often you get those paper covers on books, kwim.

I have begun to alter a book I got at Goodwill. I didn't read the book, i didn't care what the title was. I had to swallow the lump in my throat and go for the structure of the book itself instead of looking for the work that went into the writing of the book. I have altered only one page so far. I like the result so far, but have lots I want to do to it. I want to do something that has to do with our vacation to maine. maybe decoupage cropped pics into it? maybe pressing some leaves and decoupaging those into it? ticket stubs? i have lots of ideas. Maybe it can be a project i do here as a sort of tutorial? I can show my first page done so far, if anyone is interested.
