Question on Mason Jar Oil Lamps
What type of lid can be used on the jar? Can it be plastic (like on a mayo jar) or can I use the 2 piece canning top? Do I have to glue the 2 pieces together?
Can the lid be painted? Do you have to pre-treat it with a solution so the paint sticks?

The two piece or metal lids work best, you do not have to glue the together..... The plastic lids can be used if you put a washer
(plummers washers) between the glass wick holder and the lid...
I've even used cork lids for those big heavy jars...... I just paint with gold paint and it sticks well to the metal lids put you might want to use primmer....
