My Mason Jar Oil Lamp - UPDATE
Well, can't say it's the best I've ever seen, but I learned one thing. Definately use a wide mouth jar if you want to get your hand in there!
You can't see, but I painted the pebbles white and sprinkled them with glitter. The snowman is made out of puff balls, a plastic hat, and the scarf is 3 strands (1 red, 1 white and 1 green) of yarn braided together. The little tree is a small wooden ornament and the packages are from a string of them to put on a tiny table top tree.
I tried to paint the top piece of the canning jar assembly, but the paint wouldn't take. So I cut out a piece of fabric and glued it on.
Looks rather childish, but the next one will be better!
(I hope!
)
*****************************
UPDATE:
Well, last night I noticed all of the little things I hot glued in the jar are now floating! The oil must have dissolved the glue.
Next time I will just anchor them in about 1" deep of pebbles.

I never could find the wicks to make these. I asked at Michael's and they didn't have them. I don't really understand how the wick stays in there.

Diana- that is very cute!!! You made it like a snow globe- I love that idea! I also finished mine- made it out of potpourri, I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now I just have to dig out my digital camera and take some pics!

Thanks Patchworkgirl! Hurry up and find that camera, I can't wait to see yours!
Thank you ladies!
Jodi, It is a small glass tube with a flange at the top. You drill or use a hammer and nail to put a hole in the center of your jar lid. Then insert the glass wick holder. Here is a picture from Lori's tutorial.~~ Dee ~~
