making wooden stars for outside-to sell
this year for yard sale.
I love making crafts. But since I find at the local fall craft fairs i see great ideas many have same ideas.
I bought last year a wooden star for $12 stained.
Hubby just went out and got a bundle of lats 50 for $8. each star needs 5 lats to make the star. it rustic looking.
Im thinking to sell them at the yard sale for at least $5-7 instead of $10. which i think is too much since i realize how cheap u can buy these things. Just need to get stain and some raffia for the bow.
plus all my yard sale stuff this spring . loads of it. I did a major clean out. Im going simplicty at its finest for lack of room lol

now THAT is a great idea.
how often are you going to a garage sale yourself & think "gee, where's all the good stuff?" & you KNOW it's packed in their house! LOL
okay maybe that's me.
but last year we had a "community garage sale"... and many ppl made foods, which were sold immediately (yes, i was one of 'em!).
the "goods" weren't really sold... but it was the first one ever we had... so not many showed up.
This year, I may take a lead from you Miss_Thrifty... I may make a few things and sell them.
What a great idea!
I love your star idea... i wish i were crafty enough to make something like that.

What a lovely star!! - So simple and gracious in its lines. What size is it? I can see why you would want to make them!!
Mahalof for the picture!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Those really are so nice! I'll tell you the truth, I wouldn't let them go for under $8. You mentioned paying $12, so alot of people have seen them at that price too, they'll know they're getting a bargain. I just think your's and DH's time is worth something too!
I just might give this project a shot! I really like them and I wonder how it would look in painted colors?

I think hes selling them for $8 . I thought at first $7. I know that if I sell them too cheap compare to the rest other people others will resell them and still make money. but then its a yard sale and I hate buying brand new myself unless its cheap enough. u know what I mean right?

painted colors maybe alright too. Maybe white or darker colors. All i ever seen was stain or looks like old worn wood. Like the benches my hubby use to make outside u could sit on or put smaller flower pots on it.all old wood we left outside to grey. they were $25 for smaller ones and up to $45 for the large ones. the large could fit 3 people on it.

Those are so sweet! I wish I'd have thought of that when I re-did my living room in primitive patriotic theme. Maybe when I get a bigger living room, as all the walls are full right now, LOL
