I've never made a braided rug out of them, but why not buy a blank latch hook canvas, cut the denim into strips that will fit in the squares. knot them on the canvas like you would the yarn.

Yeah, I've fallen in love with the recycled jean rugs at the Mennonite Central Committee site.I keep thinking I'll make jeans rugs! I love the pillow idea.

Those are cute!
I have been working on my braided jeans rag rug, but it's slow going, becuase I keep getting blisters from hand sewing through the tough fabric. I do need to post an updated pic though, becuase it is getting bigger!

I think I'll be saving my boys old outgrown jeans for a braided rug also! It would be something that I would use more than a sketch book holder..although making a "carryall" pouch...is interesting too! Thanks for the cool link!!
