Old fashion mini candles xmas tree?

I like the idea and havent seen any clip on around that I could get or even buy whether cheaply or not in my area.
I wonder does anyone have any ideas of how to make one similar that safe and fits over or clips to the mini lights. If I could find a pattern then i could start making enough for now for the tree.
this is going to be a hrad one I think.

I guess no one knows how to make one or found something like it in the stores cheap enough.

You could make the base by using tin can lids. File the edges so they aren't sharp, make a hole in the middle and fit the light through. I saw it somewhere but don't remember where. They also punched the lids to make decorations on it before putting the light through.
