dishwasher clean/dirty sign

i need a simple, kinda quick idea for making this.

not asking for anything fancy.

i want one to hang from the dishwasher handle. it's not magnetic, so no magnet ideas plz.

be it sew or crochet (not in the mood to knit something like this).
or another craft you can think of.
i have no plastic canvas materials - nor do i have the money to buy them.

thanks & sorry for the shortness of this (i'm feeling very chaotic & am looking for solutions for others to help me w/the overwhelming load of chores, etc.)

You can take a plastic lid from an old container and print in Permanent marker on each side and decorate it to cover the label. You can punch a hole along the rim to tie it to the handle. Depending on the length of tie, you should be able to turn it one way or the other without it flipping back and forth.

Do you have any self print business cards? You could print it.

Or scrapbook papers, you could dress up a card style, cover with plastic(ziplock?) and use that.

I don't know anything about knitting or crochet. Do you have any aida cloth? It could be cross stitched.

Hand or machine embroidery? If you have an embroidery machine, I could digitize a design for you.

wow, i'm SO glad i asked here! LOL

the simplest ideas work for the short term...

i may go for the plastic lid first as a 'quick fix'... and then think of something "prettier" (for me) to cross stitch at a later time.... i like these ideas!
