    Default Hammer Handle Santa

Just wanted to share a craft I came across today while unpacking...
My manager and I made over a hundred of these one year for all of our customers at the beauty shop I worked at.

    Its really easy to do....

    1) You need a hammer handle and a wooden heart shaped cut out. Screw the cut out to the bottom of the handle. Then paint the middle of the handle red and the bottom of the handle and the cut out black.

    2) Cut a long triangle from a scrap of material and sew it into a cone (wrong sides out)... turn it right side out to make the hat. Thread a piece of wire through it. Sew a jingle bell to the point of the hat of you'd like... or use a pom pom.

    3) Sew a tube of scrap material (wrong sides together)... turn it right side out for the arms. Thread a piece of wire through them. Hot glue some little black felt gloves to his arms and trim with a strip of white fun fur on each sleeve.

4)Hot glue a strip of fur around the center of the handle to make the bottom of his coat. Hot glue the arms to the back of the handle. Hot glue the hat to his head and trim with fur.

    5) Hot glue some hair on for his hair and beard. (Tip from Lori: Use that Halloween spider web you bought at the after holiday sales!)

    6) Use red and black permanent markers to give him a nose and eyes. Or you could be more creative with his face.

You can buy handles at most hardware stores... WalMart may even have them. We found them at a "junk" store in PA very cheap.
We made them as Christmas gifts for our customers... didn't charge for them.
