What about sewing some reusable shopping bags? The ones they sell at the grocery stores around here are really ugly. Maybe people would be willing to pay a little more for a pretty one. They could justify the purchase because it is something functional. I've looked at the ones I've bought from various stores and there's really not much to them. You could probably take one apart and use it as a pattern. Just a thought.

I have been thinking about making or rather embellishing parasols. I go to a antique flea market every weekend and a few ladies there have these really funky parasols that keep the sun off of them and I want one! Everyone always asks where the ladies got them and they never say. The one I love is tourqoise with pink flowers edging it. So unusual these days.

I like the reusable bags idea. What about aprons or some cute little decorated bottles?

How about some scrapbooking things? Cards or the 'paper bag album' seemed to be selling well at the last one I went to.

I would guess this time of year 'think Xmas'......anything that might be used for a Xmas gift. Part of it depend on your area...what the people like.....and are willing to pay, if you have it priced right.

How about some homemade jams and jellies? Dip mixes ALWAYS sell well at ours. I always look/buy those...but I like trying new things.

I do recycled handbags and grocery bags and they sell like crazy. However, do your best to keep the price down. I've seen people selling them for $15 and up and at the end of the day their booth is still full. I try to keep them around $10 or less and I have sold out! My trick...I used recycled material. I hit the thrift shop and garage sales and find old table clothes and sheets and blankets. Cuts out the cost of fabric...then it's just time and thread you are investing!

Here is another recycled craft I came up with. It's 100% my design, so I'm sure you won't see too many of them out there and people love them. Dh is in a band, and wears manly jewelry on stage as part of his "image" and I made him a bunch of these out of black plastic and put a charm on them (crosses and manly things) and he's had alot of comments on them!

You may think I am crazy to suggest it, but cool looking surgical masks.

Part of my job is in disaster recovery, and it's pretty certain the H1N1 is coming back this fall. I've looked around on etsy and e-bay and stuff, and people are handmade surgical masks for $4-$6 each. I've actually bought a few amusing ones to send to my friend who works in a army hospital in Afghanistan.

Also, coupon organizers is another good idea.

Love the idea of decorated surgical masks. Noticed last year when DD had her three surgeries that the operating room staff all had interesting patterned hair protectors on - might give those a try too!!
