Very nice. What is the small green one at the bottom?

My father made jewelry for quite a while, and I used to like going with him to look at rocks. He really enjoyed the hobby. He would have loved the large brownish greenish one (at least on my computer screen) next to the green one, and the large one above that one. Well, all of them, but those two especially made me think of him.

I'd love to tell ya what it is but I can't....about all I can do is say whether a rock is an agate, jasper, or something else. I do know a few but none in this picture....I lick them...if they look shiny, I'll cut, shape, and polish them. I'll work up some of these this year & post more pictures.

Working with rocks takes time, it's a grind.... I said I'd post some follow-up pictures of what I do to them...

The following is mostly the rocks in the first post. First you saw the slabs. Next I have shapes marked out, the rough cut, then finished. The polish is better in person.

It's a "grind" indeed. Thanks for the graduated update pics. So neat!
