Ooooh...a daughter who manages a bookstore. THAT would be dangerous!

Readerware...well it's a spreadsheet program. I bought the cue cat reader with the program so I can easily catalogue books. I just run it across the bar code on the back of the book and it automatically enters the ISBN so I can tell the program to search the Internet for it.

You have a choice of where it searches. I actually add all of the options and tell it to merge the data so I get as detailed a catalogue as I can on a book.

It also gives you statistics on your books. It will tell you how many you have catalogued, and their value.

If you go into the main entry page for each book you can enter things such as your cost, whether you've read it or not, it's dimensions, what kind of cover it has, the subject heading you want to file it under or search by, the condition of the book, your rating of the book, whether it's out on loan, the usual author, title, publisher stuff, and a comments section.

I go to the Web tab up top and under Auto Catalog to catalogue. I either use the cue cat or type in the ISBN or whatever (it allows LC numbers as well), and then follow the directions in the dialog box to finish catalogueing.

    Hope that helps...

ETA: It also has a built in search feature to let you search by certain criteria for particular books. Ie. you can pull up a list of all the books you have out on loan.
