Any miniatures and dollhouse folks out there?
I'm getting ready to dig back in to the hobby after 15 years with my stuff in boxes.
Been cruising web sites looking at supplies... OMG! I can't believe the price hikes. House shingles I paid $1.75 for are now $5.99! That's more than tripled!Use it up, Wear it out,
Make it do, Or do without. ~unknown

I'm not a hobbyist, but I've always had some sort of fascination with it all. LOL
I don't dare even start. I'd go broke for sure. I find all those tiny items something I wouldn't be able to resist. I'm so serious. Whenever I even look at anything miniature, I enter this fantasy land where I could buy everything in sight. It's all just so awesome-ly small and wonderful to me. It's the same with scrap-booking or beading. I could NEVER start.
I have no interest in creating miniatures though. I do dollhouses and minis. Hence the username-- minicrazy! I've noticed lately that some prices are going up, and about 95% of the stuff is from China these days. I am trying to make a lot of my minis these days instead of buying.

I've always been fascinated by tiny stuff. I would love to build a dollhouse, and decorate it, and make tiny little furniture, and unfortunately, buy tiny little things.
But I'm afraid that if I started I would bankrupt us.

I find them fascinating, too. One of the most fun things we saw when we were in Cody, Wyoming, last year was a museum all of miniatures. People had built entire towns, battles, and all kinds of dioramas full of miniatures.
One of my favorite story arcs in the TV show CSI is the miniature killer series. Over several episodes, the killer created detailed dioramas depicting each murder scene. Creepy but the detail of the dioramas amazed me. Someone had to build those props, and they had to have taken a lot of time to create for all those episodes.
