Just caught up with you guys! I have been crafting yesterday and today all by myself....when I could have been crafting with you!!

Everyone is doing great!

A cold front moved in yesterday morning and I have been in the house ever since!

Yesterday I finished this Bandana cowl....

I CO another cowl last night and another one this morning. I also have been sewing on the quilt I am making my Mom for Mother's Day. Off to knit some more!

In the ancient slang, I am bummed. I hauled my crochet down to the staff lounge at my supper break and I had put in everything when I changed bags - except the hook. I only have about 30 mins of real work to do for the next three hours and I was going to crochet some at the desk too. Oh well, thanks be to Amazon for inventing Kindles! At least I can read.

The irony of my life - finally I work in a library and it doesn't have a single book I want to read. The dermatology books have some pretty exciting pictures, but for the rest, no way. Gastroenterology just isn't my idea of a fun read. Not much of a plot either!

I was out this evening and am fighting a headache with a sudden change in weather we're having. I'm heading up to bed with an Advil.

Decided to dig into my cotton yarn and seek out a simple one color dishcloth pattern so I could start and finish within the evening Finally got to use the purple I bought a while back and even managed to start another out of the gigantic skein of Bernat holiday cotton that has flecks of green and red. Just so tired that I wanted to get something done without thinking too much. So Dishcloth #4 of my gift stash is completed and I'm taking my Kindle to bed now, nite all!

I forgot about bound buttonholes - used to make them all the time because I like the look of them.

Make paper crafts out the wazoo tonight!!

After bouncing around the house yesterday (didn't know what to do with myself, with a snow day!!) I figured out and started making Valentines for an exchange I signed up for. To be honest, I had to get to, then clear off my desk in the office, so all in all it was a very productive day!

Off to the Doctor this morning, but big plans for this afternoon!

Bought the yarn to make the baby blanket for my co-worker.
After seeing the color combination - I want one for myself.
Here's what I've done so far.....

Oooh that is beautiful, love the color combo. So what type of yarn is this and is this one repeat (I see 1 cream, 2 green, 2 cream, 4 orange, 2 cream, 4 brown, is that right)? What is that orange color called?

Did a bit more late last night, and at it again this morning; hoping for a good day of progress.

My Plans: (Thursday to Sunday)

FOOD:
- finish baking with the Silk Soy: pancakes/crepes

CLOTHING:
- do last load of laundry DONE

- sort clothing in dresser drawers keeping only the clothing that gets used. Stack the rest on the closet shelf. Anything with metallic fibers is getting removed because I've become allergic to it.
It would still make great rag-rugs, and the gold or silver threads in the fiber would add interest.
GOAL: find 3 hours to do this DONE
- sorted out clothing for various projects DONE
- re-organized my clothes closet clothing DONE

- cut up some unusable clothing for rag-rug strips;
GOAL: 3-4 pieces each time, 3 days per week

- sewed some rug strips together DONE: 4 more rolls

- some essential mending at the sewing machine
GOAL: find 4 hours to do this
DONE: mended 1 nightgown

- continue sorting sewing dresser drawers; DONE: 3/7 ;
GOAL: 1 drawer for each hour spent in the spare room at computer

- rip apart some unusable knitted articles for the yarn;
GOAL: find odd moments or 2-3 hours to work on and complete this goal
DONE: 1 scarf & 1 hat, 1 large multi-colour knitted tube last night.
TO-DO:1 sweater (needs some pill-shaving, taking apart these seams is an awful ordeal !!!, but I knitted it years ago, wore it only a few times and the yarn is too good to throw away)

- sort yarns for immediate craft projects; stack the rest in closet again
GOAL: find 2 hours to do this

- cut frazzled edges off bath towels, sew new edges on all 4 sides
(1/2 - 1 hour each)

- cut mildewed bottom off fabric shower curtain, attach matching fabric (2 hours) In Progress: Must finish this after my breakfast, so I can have a shower!

- print out some knitting patterns for slippers (3 hours)

- vacuuming (2 hours)

- wash floors (1 hour)

- continue work on 2 woven rag-rugs (4 - 8 hours)

- update coupons on my SC trade list (2 hours)

- listenING to Liona Boyd's classical guitar CD's; and Nature & Piano

That is a cute cowl, DC, but that look on your face is priceless!! You look like you are afraid that it is going to jump up and suffocate you if you move!

I am working on my scarf, but Jean reminded me with her post that I have a baby blanket that I need to finish as well, so I may work on that today. It was a nine-panel job, and I knitted all the panels, but now I have to join them together and knit the border. It was for a co-worker who had her baby last year, but she left for maternity leave before I could finish, and is still out, but expected back in Feb.

I'm using Caron Simply Soft.
The colors are Nutmeg, Off White, Cypress and Persimmon (that's the orange one.)

Starting from the bottom, here's my plan:
4 Nutmeg
2 Off White
4 Persimmon
2 Off White
2 Cypress
2 Off white
4 Persimmon
2 Off White
Then I'll repeat this sequence till I get to the right size,ending with Nutmeg.

Have almost finished the stamp/postage holders - I signed up to make 5 set of 7 each. Then I'm starting on my hostess gifts.
