    Question naturally dyeing fabrics?

Has anyone naturally dyed fabric with their own plants? I thought how neat it might be to do a rag rug with naturally dyed fabric. I've been compiling a list of plants that can be used for natural dyes.

No, I haven't but my aunt used to give us scarves and stocking hats every year for xmas. They were made from th woll sheared off of her sheep, then she herself spun and naturally died it, then knitted them. They were always so neat to get.

I've done tea dyes to make white sheets beige when I moved and they no longer matched. It didn't give a very even color. I was told that had I left it to soak longer it would have evened out more. It was a much more natural, mellow hue than anything I could have gotten with a regular chemical dye.

This sounds interesting and something I might like.
I have this sofa-cover I got on clearanced and I would love to change the coloring to a little darker. Do you think this would work on something like this?

p.s. I need to get more plants too.
