    Thumbs up Puzzle Jars

Fill a jar with rice and add little trinkets to it. The object is for the person to find all the objects in the jar without opening it. Seal the lid. You can add the list of items on the lid and cover it with some type of fabric that lifts to reveal the answers. Or you could attach them to the jar in a small envelope.

Attach the following poem to the puzzle jar:

Some pirates got it all mixed up
And did things the wrong way round.
They put their treasure in the jar,
And buried the map in the ground.
Their treasure was some silly stuff,
    Like nuts, and screws,and beads,
    Then dear old Polly Parrot
    Added all her extra seeds.
So find the 40 items here,
No two are quite the same.
Don't open up the jar, though,
As that would spoil the game.

**If you don't have 40 items, just sub the number in it's place that you add to the jar.

Just add things from around the house....screw, nut, bolts, nails, erasers, buttons, etc. or you can make it for a particular person like a teen girl and then you could add lipstick, fingernail polish, etc.

I think my kids would think this was fun to play. Thank you.

this is a good one to have as a party game at a baby or wedding shower. find little trinkets related to the baby or wedding theme and have the guests write them down on paper. the one who finds the most wins teh game. you can give them a certain amount of time to find them in or not.

I saw a similar on at the auto mechanics a few weeks ago. Their's was an old soda bottle with cat litter instead of rice. I thought it was a bit yucky the fruit loop cereal they had in it though.
