New Village Junk Wars
The new village junk wars is starting. I'm giving some advance notice because of the holidays.
Here's the list of items for the project:
altoid mint can
something blue
something paper
something shiny
something wooden
fabric
something plastic
Little recap of what it's about for anyone new.
What are the village junk wars you ask? A new monthly activity.
I'll be giving a list of items that can be found around the house and a few that may need to be purchased. Each contestant will create something out of the list of items. The winner will receive a prize. Judging will be done poll style by majority vote. You must be able to post a picture of your completed entry.
Each person will be allowed to add up to three of their own additional items to complete their finished entry, but they must list ahead of time what those items will be. (list your additional items after the monthly supply list I provide is posted)
Village Junk Wars will have a max money amount able to be spent per contest. Your additional items you select to create your masterpiece will have to fall within that budget.
You have a month to create your craft, so no rush. Post a picture of your craft when done and a total amount spent and any added materials. (3 max and max total dollar amount of $10.00)
Deadline will be January 21st.

Maybe I can actually do this one! I intended to do the last one, but got way too busy!
I have some time off work the week after Christmas, so this will be perfect and fun!

OK! I've got my stuff together:
altoid mint can
something blue
something paper
something shiny
something wooden
fabric
something plastic
plus I'll be adding:
a giant purple button
some batting
lavendar felt (if I can find it, may settle for a different color)
Who else is playing?

Here it is:
I covered the MINT BOX with a pink and purple, mini leopard print FABRIC, sewed on my giant purple button (cause I thought it was cool) and added a tassel thing I made with BLUE yarn, WOOD beads and PLASTIC buttons.

The inside is sort of lined with hot pink felt. I couldn't find the lavender. I glued on a SHINY mirror and filled it with PAPER hearts. I just used plain white paper because I did't feel like digging out the colored stuff.
