IS anyone in any book clubs for craft books?
I just joined one today, thanks to my dh. It is a craft book club, I like the idea of being able to get my craft book "library" going this way, i can shop based on theme and so on. Does any one else belong to a book club? I was in a few music clubs that were pretty rotten. I am hoping the general "club" thing has changed in the 10 years since i was in one.
Are you in one? What has been your experience so far? Any "heads ups" you can give me?~~ Missy ~~

Well you already know I was in one. I really liked it, except I ordered way too many books. It got very costly for me, because I couldn't stick with 1-2 an order.
I also found you have to pick your books carefully. Some weren't worth the price I paid for them. I love hard cover books (thats just me) and I found quite a few books that I thought were hard cover weren't and yet the price was exactly the same.
I also found some of the quilting books were almost identical when it came to patterns. It may be different with other books, I just didn't order any other books. If I was still in it, I would probably order some crocheting books now.
Its a great way to get your craft library going though. And you get a wide variety each time the flyer comes out. If you can keep your book orders to 1-2, its great!!! If your like me and can't, ooooh lala, the bills add up quickly. My problem is I love books!!!
Shipping is what really adds up, so you want to be careful you don't get too many books at once.

It didn't seem too bad of a deal. 4 books for $1 plus shipping and then only 2 more to fulfill membership requirements. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I'm not either because I am afraid I would order more than I could afford.
BUT it is a great way to get your craft book collection going.~*Michelle*~

I was in Crafter's Choice for a while and I liked it a lot... too much, because I bought more books than I should have!
My only piece of advice is to watch your local bookstores if there's a title you're thinking of buying~ sometimes I would find it cheaper in a store after I had bought it through the club. Their selection was great, though~ more craft books there than at any local store!
Enjoy!

This is at http://www.crafterschoice.com/doc/cl...equestid=44431
It's a book of the month type club. You get some cheap when you first join and then need to purchase some to fulfill their club requirements. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online.
