Question Is crafting something you inherited from your mom or grandmother?

I sure didn't inherit it from my mom. She has absolutely no crafting ability and will say so. My grandmother did make lovely embroidered items, so I must have gotten my love of doing a craft from her. I may have also gotten it from my dad. He was really good at working woodwork and in his later years took up wood carving.

    How about you?

My mother was a crafter of the best caliber! I can't think of much she didn't or couldn't do. She loved to crochet and did knit some when we were kids. She fostered the love of creativity in both Lori and I from a very young age. It was her release, and continues to be mine.

My great grandmother made beautiful quilts by hand out of fabric scraps and outgrown clothing. My mother still has one. Mom sewed, knitted, and tried about everything else. I was the "cutter outer". I still dread cutting out. Dad was very creative. He made a lot of money selling dressed up helmets to mortor cycle enthusiests.

I come from a long line of professional seamstresses. My mom was not, but can sew up a storm. My sewing skill is lacking a lot, but mom and I are the only ones that can mix patterns and colors and do any decorative painting etc.

My grandmothers on both sides were always crocheting something. My maternal grandmother tatted too, sewed without patterns, quilted, embroidered and so on.

My mom crochets, knits, embroiders and taught me to do those things. She realized I was more inclined to be crafty than her, and she indulged my desires. I got grandma's sewing maching after she died-- even though my mom didn't even know how to thread it! She's let me have old sheets and dad's old shirts to practice with--- and would buy me material and patterns. She encouraged me, although she didn't understand me
