Question Do you ever feel you have too many interests...

...and not enough time? I like to scrapbook, quilt, sew (on top of my other hobbies of reading, baking, and cooking), and there's not enough time for even half of those. I also want to learn to crochet and knit.

Do you find this same thing? Do you just go with whatever you feel like doing at the time? Say quilting for a few months then turn to crochet, etc?

Yes Chelle, I do too. I got rid of a lot of stuff in the flings but I still have tons. I kept my knitting, machine knitting (2), crocheting, sewing, cross stitch and my paints.

My hands sweat (thanks Ma!) so I tend to work on the yarn crafts in the winter and the others in the summer months. I usually just do whatever I feel like doing at the time. I haven't had an urge to knit all winter this year so I have stuck with crocheting.

It is easier for me, I don't have to juggle my time around children. I can do what I want, when I want.

I use to feel this way, but when I started my journey to inner simplicity, I cut way back on my interests and focused only on a few. I got rid of all the crafts I had and only stuck with one, and that was quilting. Quilting is my passion so thats my main focus. I'm just learning to crochet and I enjoy doing that
    as well.

Otherwise the only other 2 interests I have are reading and gardening. Reading I do in the evening when everyone else is reading and late into the night and gardening is only a seasonal thing.

I don't think I have too many interests. I think I don't have enough time or money to support my interests. I am always amazed how anyone with young children can do crafts so quickly and am equally amazed at how much some hobbies cost.

I'm pretty useless at night. My brain is fried and it's about the only time I have to do crafts. (after the children are sleeping) It makes it tough to learn new things.

I get frustrated when I have the desire, but don't have the time.

I just keep plugging away and fitting in what I can, when I can even if it's at a snail's pace. My children won't be little ones forever.

i do. but don't tell my dh that. he'd be happy to lighten that load for me . I am kinda flighty to begin with so I just do what I feel like each day. and it might wind up being six or more things in one day because I get easily distracted.

No, I don't because I just don't have the time. I really enjoy reading and journaling and I always squeeze those in somehow. I'd like to be more crafty but I'm just not. LOL

I don't either. I used to but ended up stressing myself out because I did not have the time or finances to support all of them. Now I'm happy just finding more frugal things to do.

I used to think I did too many things but now I have simplified how I look at my life I just have three interests: my family/friends, my home and my garden. Mind you, I could have sub directories in those three interests that could fill several pages but so long as I look at it in those broad terms i don't get stressed out by not doing a specific thing.

I have so many interests and not nearly enough time or money to pursue most of them, so I am slowly cutting things out. I'm not buying any more kits or learning any more crafts until I've used up a lot of what is lurking in my craft closet.

Right now my main hobby is playing online for a little while each day while DD naps. My other interests right now are working on my coupons and trying new recipes-- both of which I can work on out in the family room/kitchen area with her "helping" me, so I don't have trouble fitting those in.

I have a closet full of crafts that I don't have the time to get out, work on, and then put away before she gets up. In the new house I will have a craft room where I can leave projects set up, so I'm looking forward to that a lot. I miss the creative outlet-- I was an art major, remember! So for now I channel that creativity into my cooking.

The other thing I really enjoy is reading, but I no longer buy new books every month. I have weeded out my collection quite a bit, and now go to the library when I can.

I have many interests as well, quilting, sewing, reading, crocheting, crafts; the list goes on and on. The only time it seems I have time to devote to hobbies is in the winter. Like most I raise a large garden and herb bed so my spring and summer as well as part of the fall is taken up tending to the gardens and preserving. I do enjoy the cold months when I can sit back and enjoy my time in the house with my crafts though.
