what can i do with these??
ok, since i've been watching my nephew, i've started saving the 4oz glass baby food jars, the plastic baby food containers with the lids (rectangle shaped), and also a couple bigger jars with lids (like instant coffee jars).
i'd like to make bath salts for christmas, or lotions or something.
do you ladies have any good ideas for them???? i remember sara asking about the little plastic containers a LONG time ago, but don't remember what the response was.
can you help??? THANKS!!!

I ended up reusing the little plastic containers for snacks for the kids. I'd add applesauce to them, yogurt, cheerios, pudding etc.
I didn't really use them for much else though. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I love using small containers like those for our camping trips. I put honey in one and nondairy creamer in another. I put dish soap in another, etc. This way I don't need to bring the big bottles of stuff for our weekend.

The plastic ones are excellent for storing homemade playdough.
I'm going to try candles in my jars. If I'm not mistaken you can buy little wax shapes that I was going to stick to the inside of the jar in a pattern/design, then fill with gel candle stuff. I plan to tie some ribbon, homespun or raffia around the tops to hide the threads at the top of the jar.

I really like the plastic containers and keep hoping I'll find new uses for them. They're nice for tiny surprises for the kids too. (Little candies whatnot) My kids like just playing with them, so they ended up in their play food bin.
Homemade playdoh is a great idea.

I have small plastic containers, like from the small ice cream cups or italian ice that I use for jello or pudding.
I also have all kinds of jars and containers, glass and plastic that I use for many different things. Whether they be for storage or houseing homemade items.

I love to paint jars........ The little ones would make great gifts for kids at school, teachers, co-workers, etc........
Mini snowman or gingerbread candy jars would be fun.......
I can't find the treads tho.....
Let us know what you do with them ...
