    Default Need ideas please

Hey everyone, I need some suggestions. My dh is redo-ing his car. He is replacing the interior (leather/vynl and carpet) but the parts he is getting are the wrong color. Anyone have any ideas on how to dye auto interiors? (its a 1980 Trans Am)

the kids are particularly good at it. I can tell you how to achive the grape soda stain, the misc cheese cracker stain, the mashed in raisin stain (this one has an added bounus of being a textured stain as well), and the all time favorite mystery stain. For the low, low price of 9.99 you too can be a master of the staining techniques mentioned above and much much more. And if you act now we can throw in, absolutely free, the tiny leggo that gets lodged in the shifter base.

I would need to know more info on what he is trying to dye - is it new , old, fabric (what kind) carpet? I do car interiors (mostly English cars). There is a great store in Tempe, AZ called Tempe Sales that has almost all of the fabrics and vinyls ever used in the auto industry. I'm sure someone here is living there? (wish I still was ) I am not sure if they are online but I have their phone number if you want it.

Well since this is my work area, I guess I need to add my 2 cents..lol.

Check the Yellow pages for an Auto Paint store, they usually carru the dye needed for the carpets, etc. or can tell you who to call. Unless you buy all your parts at the same time from the same company, it is really hard to get everything to match.

What he's doing is using the seats door panels and dashboard from another trans am to replace his. His are in worse condition than these. I THINK he wants to get the seats recovered, but until he does, he wants to have them dyed black. I am thinking he wants me to help with this.....

    My offer still stands.

We should just lock Erick and Jason in the garage, we can go shopping. Let them bond over bond-o and seat covers.

If its just the seats he wants doin' then to dye them would be a real pain in the.... pants . He should just get covers til he has them done right. What year TA? As I recall It was a fairly simply fabric down the middle pattern.
