Default anyone make puppets from stuffed animals?

My kids have a ton of stuffed animals that just sit around. I wondered if I should recycle some into puppets that might actually get played with.

    Has anyone done this?

I've done it occasionally-- you really need an animal that is "standing" on it's legs, or otherwise upright, for it to work well.

It's a good use of an otherwise cast off item.

I used to do it but I would leave the stuffing in the hands and head- if you open the bottom and destuff then turn the animal inside out you can sew little pouches to stuff inside then turn it right side out and you have room for little hands to go into the arms and up the back of the head while the hands and face are still shaped with stuffing!!! My kids loved puppets - actually they still love it when I make their animals talk to them (especially if they say bad words )
