Christmas crafts?

When do you guys start your holiday crafts. A friend of mine has started her needlework gifts, she does an ornament for each of the 12 neices and nephews. At work we will be starting some of our woodcrafts for our holiday bazarre within the next week or two (24 weeks til the bazarre). I don't make a huge amount as gifts, but do like to give 3-4 close friends something special and handmade-they really appreciate it-any ideas?

I have a few ideas but haven't put them on paper yet and not sure how they will turn out.

I'm going for a homemade Christmas this year. LOL, I buy my gifts for myself every year anyway. So why not just have everyone make something. Gotta get dh and ds encouraged to begin. LOL

If I figure out what I want to do or run across any good idea, i will let you know.
