    Default UFO goals this year

(UFO= Un Finished Objects for those who might not know the acronym)

One of my many goals this year are to finish up some of my UFO's.

I finished my flag quilt which makes one down, 5 to go.

    Ladies keep me on track

*Apple quilt top my grandmother gave me needs to be used
*I have a pillow sized quilt top to do
*I have a patriotic chicken to finish up/sew
    * Finish up the knit house socks I started for the kids
*Finish grouting the mosaic stuff i started

Those are the UFO's , these are things other that i want to do that i haven't started yet:

*I need to make a pillow case using a variety of scraps I have.
*I want to do a dog bed pillow/case (might not have a dog right now, but we'll adopt soon enough, determined kids)
*I need to do mittens (more is better) for the kids, do a tutorial with them

Do you have UFO's you need a push to get done? Post em and we'll all rally to get each other working on em!

Becca's quilt. One week into it, I sliced my finger with my rotary cutter, necessitating 4 stitches. That was in April of 2003 (nice way to start a new job, BTW, with black stitches hanging out of your finger). I have worked on it since then, but that's almost 3 years ago. Time to get diligent. I worked solidly on it in November, but set it aside for the holidays. All the cutting is done (including the 176 little green leaves). And I think all the applique is done. I need to piece it and then get on with the hand-quilting.

i had some crocheting ufo's but scraped them and riped them out and just rewound them on the ball of yarn. i did manage to finish ds's afghan that took me 2 or 3 years to get around to finishing.

i have a bag i'm working on for dd for next christmas, but that's it right now. no other projects going.

Wow! Everyone sounds like they have wonderful projects to work on!!

Do you all know what you are going to hit first? I am thinking I would like to make the pillow case first. (no batting for any of the quilting projects I had in mind. )

I made the scrap pieces pillow case tonight. it is kinda funny lookin. The front doesn't match the back (wow, mom, it's like two pillows in one!! - DS1) And the patterns look all...off...compared to the next one. LOL, but it works for me. I like it. Fits my personality - a bit...off...-and my color scheme/theme for my living room. If anyone wants to see, I will post a pic tomorrow.

Never thought of using up scraps for pillow cases!! what a great idea! And yes! We'd love to see it.

I have so many UFO's. In no particular order-
~ Quilt #1: Irish chain: I need to put batting and backing to- then quilt.
~ Quilt #2: pinwheel: I need to add edging to make it fit a f/q- then bat, back and quilt. Can't decide if I want to add small pinwheels around the edging- or just do a boring border.
~ Quilt #3-20: Memorial quilts for nieces and nephews. I already completed 9 Q sz quilts for bros/sis/dad from using my mom's clothing (died 6/2004 age 60). Now I am using all of her fleece, sweatshirt material to put together quilts for the grandchildren. all 17 of them. I have them cut and coordinated I just need to sew them together and finish the edge. Not hard really- just daunting and I get teary eyed.
~ I have a few more baby quilts to finish then bring them to Children's Hospital for the babies
~ Scrapbook my children's life. ee gads!
~ I have lots and lots of yarn to use up. Maybe I'll make some baby blankets for Children's hospital.
~ I have lots more yarn to use up. How about some knit caps for the babies!
~ More yarn! hat and scarfs for the dd1+2
~ So much fabric to use up! I will be looking for ideas to use this up for gifts.
~ December's theme wall quilt. (santas)
~ April's theme wall quilt. (bunnys)
~ May's theme wall quilt (Flowers)
~ June's theme wall quilt (americana)
~ July's theme wall quilt (watermelons)
~ August's theme wall quilt (sunflowers)

If I put my mind to it- this can all be completed this year. I sew fast. (used to be my trade many years ago)

I have 21 quilting UFO's. Maggie at www.homesteadgarden.com calls them WIP's (works in progress). Gotta love that.

I've almost finished one today. Just have to finish the binding. I'll then work on the second one, again just sewing on the binding.

btw - Missy, I love your pillows.
