Help - I need ideas

I have been wanting to make a wooden door hanging for my front door that uses our surname, or something that could sit near my door, but I'm not quite sure what to do. Does anyone have any ideas or a link to a site that would get my creative juices flowing, I've been looking but I haven't really found what I'm looking for yet.

our local craft store has a wood section for tole painting, etc. they have wooden plaques and wooden letters. you could put them together however you like and stain them or paint them or get your family to collect rocks, sea shells, or sea glass, beads, buttons or whatever, then decorate you name with the items. if you've taken a trip this is a good way to decorate a picture frame to display your vacation too!
