Hey Just a thought what do you collect.Being frugal makes my collecting adventures even a more Adventure I dont do Longaberger parties but i do collect the baskets have combos and rare baskets picke up at auctions.I also collect boyds bear cats meow pyrex and I always find it so much cheaper and I LOVE IT what do you collect
I've never been much of a collector because I feel suffocated by unused items. Though I've managed to "collect" about 6 cameras now, heh. I do still have a coin collection from when I was younger that I'm contemplating trying to sell off.
I collect a couple of things:
* Looney Tunes drinking glasses distributed by Pepsi in the 70's and early 80's
* Fisher Price Little People toys made prior to 1979
* I have a coin collection (thanks Daddy)which includes coins and paper money (silver certificates, red bills)all prior to 1964 - most are late 1800's and early 1900's. I have to keep these in the Safety Deposit box since the face value alone of the collection is well over $5000. I would die if anyone ever stole these. My daddy has been building this collection for me since 1980.
*Disney trading pins
I collect stone pottery bowls and stone crocks. I have so many, but I can't pass one up. The biggest stone crock I have is a 20 gal and I use it for a toy box for my grandkids. I mainly collect blue stone bowls. I have redwing, diamond, smith-hall, blue band,..you name the brand I have it. I love decorating with them. I also use them. I also have 2 old stone butter churns. They are harder to come by and can be very expensive, but I bought both of mine at auction for a very resonable price. My dh says the floors are going to fall in if I bring anymore home....oh well..they will fall in..LOL..

Working on being more frugal is that is possible!!
No cc debt----1 car payment
only payments are the necessities..house payment(which will be paid off in 6 years..or sooner I hope) and just your run of mill bills...grocery's, utilities, insurance..you know the icky stuff that goes on and on.

Snowmen. But not knick-knacky dollar store snowmen. Different stuff, like a tea cup ornament w/ a snowman's face. A big picture with a snowman & a flag that has the "Snowman's Pledge".
Oh, and yarn. I looooooove yarn

Cookbooks! I have well over 1000 of them. DH built me floor to ceiling shelves in my office aka The Hole to hold them. I've gotten many from the homes I clean out, yard sales, flea markets and friends. I love nothing more than opening a new acquisition to find some womans name penned in the cover and her notes about meals by the recipes. Which recipes did she think enought of to clip out of a newspaper and tuck in. Treasures each and everyone. Yes, I do cook from them also and make my own notes. Each book has a note in the front as to when and where it was obtained and if it was given by someone I insist that they inscribe the front also.
Then there are my cookie jars! Over a hundred of them decorate more shelves in my home. DH has also made shelves for them in almost every room. The diningroom and bedroom have a shelf that runs all the way around the room near the ceiling to hold them. Again they have come from yard sales, flea markets and as gifts.
Cookbooks and bowls. I don't care who makes the bowls, or how old they are. They just have to be something I like, something I can use and something that looks nice sitting around.

Snowmen here too, I must be getting tired of them though..this year at christmas I only pulled out about 5 or 6. Funny my mom bought me more for christmas..from candles to figurienes. I have way too many, and to tell ya the truth..I really don't want anymore.
At Christmas I love snowmen & snowflakes. I wouldn't say I have a large collection of either but I try to buy nice ones I like (or keep the nice ones I'm given as gifts)
Other than that I collect Blue & White china, old music books, books!, some toys, & way more scrapbooking stuff than I could possibly use.
