First pinecone wreath of the year is done!
Once a year I throw a holiday bazaar for my disabled clients at work, its a huge all day party where they have the chance to sell their crafts. We started the holiday crafts this week and today we finished our first pinecone wreath of the year! These are always big sellers and only cost about $3 each to make, and they are really quite nice. They are a great idea to make if your looking for a crafted gift for someone with a country decor. To me, this means the holidays are officially on their way!

I would love to see how you make a pinecone wreath. I haven't seen one before. Could you explain it? Thank you~

I'd love to see a picture also! My grandmother used to make pinecone wreaths. When we cleaned out here house we found boxes and boxes of different sizes of pine cones in the garage. She collected them every where my grandfather and she traveled. I think my mom still has them.

I will try to post a pic-I am not very good at the loading photos thing, dh had to do our photo. Give me a day or so and I'll try.
To make them we paint a straw wreath dark brown then start hot gluing cleaned pinecones around the top, alternating sizes and shades. One wreath takes a bit more than a brown paper grocery bag of pine cones. Because they are hot glued on, they don't hold up well to big changes in temp, and they are big so they don't usually fit between a door and screen door, but they look great hanging on the wall near a fireplace etc.

Thanks, so the visual. I think I have it figured out. I would love to see a pic but I am camera impaired too. LOL so I know what you mean.
What a wonderful thing you do for your disable clients. I know they will love this.
BTW, I didn't know that hot glue would not withstand temp. changes. I just never thought about it. Thanks for the tip."Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibity."
