Cranberry Sauce Whole & Jellied Recipe
Recipe DescriptionSkip the can!Preparation Steps:I have a picture tutorial on my blog: http://www.homesteadmel.com/4/post/2010/11/cranberry-sauce.htmlLevel of Difficulty:EasyTime Needed:15 minutesIngredients:1 cup of waterServes:Directions:
1 cup of sugar
12 oz. whole cranberriesBring water and sugar to a boil in a medium saucepan
Add cranberries, bring to a boil again
Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes stirring frequently
Let cool and serve
To make Jellied Cranberry sauce:
Place a mesh strainer over a bowl
After cooking the cranberries, pour contents into the strainer
Use a large spoon or pestle to smash and scrape the mix through the strainer until there are only peel bits left
Stir sauce in bowl
Let cool and serve

I substitute 1 cup of orange juice instead of the water.it is really delicious!!

That looks really good. I'm so weird, I actually like the can.

I do this too but I also freeze it in small amounts and bake chicken breast in it later. Serve it with rice..
