Default Doesn't have to be elaborate to be yummy....

We had 13 of us here for the weekend so I had to cook for a crowd. I had bought briskets on sale during Easter so I pulled one out of the freezer and let it thaw and then threw it in the roaster with a bottle of Claude's brisket marinade and cooked it all day on low. It was hot that day so I cooked it outside. I also put a huge pot of red (pinto) beans on at the same (I know Darlene.....). I bought a 10# bag of potatoes to make potato salad with. I baked a strawberry cake. Before bedtime the night before the 'feast' Gripey brought in the roaster and cut up the meat for me. It was then placed in an old cake pan and put in the fridge (to easily be heated up the next day). The beans cooked in the crockpot all day on high and then all night and the next morning on low (I had added a little bit of pork roast that I had bought on sale and portioned up for beans and soups and froze). I made the potato salad and iced the cake. We had plenty of food, I didn't have to spend the whole day in the kitchen and everyone raved about the meal. We have leftovers and have already eaten for a day off of them. Thank goodness the cake is gone We had a really nice day with family and had lots of fun with the little ones.

Did you have a gathering for Memorial Day? What did your crew eat? Did you have fun?

Whew! Good job cooking for a crowd with no stress! You need to give a seminar!

We had 8 people here yesterday. We did burgers & dogs, homemade potato & macaroni salad and baked beans. Pretty easy, since DH did most of the cooking on the grill!

Yes, our family all gathered in Iowa to celebrate a nephew's graduation on Memorial Day weekend. We visited graves and decorated, also.

    Food:
Pulled pork (cooked in slow cooker day before)
    Baked beans
    Veggie tray
    Watermelon
    Graduation cake
    Root beer floats

I love it when we all get together. We always have good food, but just gathering with family is super.

There were six of us. My dh grilled hamburgers, grilled corn, and grilled potatoes. He also warmed up a pot of beans on the stove and earlier in the day had picked up a small chocolate cake from the store. We also had chips and dips. It was yummy and I didn't do anything......which made it even better!!!!
