Canada Day - July 1st
Where I live, today is the official last day of school (though I suspect it ended over a week ago for some kids
). There are several festivities going on.
DF and I plan on going to watch fireworks from his office which is across from the big park. Can't wait to bring in a coffee to enjoy the free show. Talk about a frugal date night!
Other then that, its continuing to clean house from top to bottom in prep for the wedding
What's everyone got planned for the holiday long weekend?

Libby have a great time. You are lucky to be able to get comfy while watching the fireworks.

Huge family BBQ at my parent's cottage. I still need to figure out what to bring. I forgot to get fireworks, it's probably too late now.

MW - I don't think its too late, there's prob a few 'last min' shops setting up with deep discounts b/c they want to liquidate their inventory. I saw 3 pop up today that weren't there last night...I suspect a few more will show up as we head into the weekend. People are firework happy here. Sat night will be interesting.
mh3rdwheel - We're lucky. It will be empty or very lil staff b/c its a long weekend AND there will be a/c and no bugs!
Supposed to be hot and humid this weekend here.

Wish I was back home to celebrate Canada Day! We are having an outdoor picnic here though and picked up some fireworks to celebrate tomorrow anyway....oh and of course the Canadian flag is hanging outside the house.

I'm so loving this week! Friday is Canada Day and Monday is the fourth of July. The weekend is flanked by holidays - not a soul in sight while out shopping and running other errands this week. Woohoo!!

we are planning to go to one of the city's wading pool as it's the first day they're open! let's hope it doesn't rain tomorrow.
best of all; the wading pools are free!
other then that we are just chilling at home. we may walk to the overpass to watch the fireworks if the spirit moves us.
HAPPY CANADA DAY! i am so proud to be canadian!

This weekend is the annual Firefighters' Pancake Breakfast. It is by far the biggest annual event in the the community, bringing out nearly half the population.

Where I live about two blocks away there is a huge tent where you can buy all kinds of fireworks, also half a block down is another smaller fireworks tent.
I work all weekend and I am off on the 4th, but my son works. We will have dinner before he goes to work at 2:30p.m.
