Smile Baby shower questions

I'm throwing a baby shower for one of my close friends (this is her 2nd). We are just going to Olive Garden for lunch to do the shower. This is her favorite restaurant and she wanted to do it there . I plan on getting the cake and bringing to OG but I need some more ideas from you guys if you don't mind...

First question...do I pay for the guest's meal or do they pay for their own? I was going to take care of mine and my friends but I want to do the right thing. There are going to be about 6 of us there.

I also would love some ideas for favors to hand out to the guests since I'm not playing any shower games or hosting it at my house I wanted to give the guests something to go home with. Do you have any ideas for that? What about centerpieces? What have you been to before and what type of favors if any did you receive. We just want this to be fun and relaxing and all of us girls love Olive Garden so we think that will be great. Just wanted some ideas....TIA!!

I think that the mommy to be should be paid for and everyone else pick up the tab for their own meal. Now for the party favors - ??????????

I agree with paying for the Mommy, making a cute little centerpiece... . The center pieces that I have seen lately at showers tend to be something really cute and useful like a baby basket. A really cute basket full of baby items with a big bow on it. Sounds like a fun shower Daphne.

Thanks for the ideas...I was also thinking about doing a basket for a centerpiece. I think I could find some affordable items to put in there to make it nice.

Diaper cakes are cute, I've heard you can do the same with dish towels. You can make chocolate roses or rattles for favors. Also, ask each of the girls to bring something for the basket, powder, shampoo, teether etc., then top it with a couple of pink and blue balloons. I also recently received a favor that was simply a babypowder scented votive wrapped in white tule with pink and blue ribbon.

Have just one game......... Make diapers out of small scraps of fabric, put mustard in just one of them.... Pin the diaper on each guest, near the end of the party, let them look, the one with the dirty diaper wins a prize.............

Here is the diaper cake Kelli wrote about....... make it as big or small as you like......

http://www.geocities.com/showersrfun...tructions.html

Make it out of any baby items.......

oh wow that cake looks great! I never saw a pic of a diaper cake that acutally looked like a CAKE till now.

As for the paying for the guests, well if it were my grandpa throwing it he'd have everyone pay seperatly...and have them raise their hands for what items they ordered and everything If my uncle were throwing it he'd pay for everyone, but wouldn't turn down if someone offered to pay their own...It just depends I think on what you know your guests would be most comfortable with

Okay, my spin... I think you should pay for you and the mommy, the others should pay theirs. Dumb question here...Is olive garden Italian??? If so, how about an inexpensive spaghetti basket, like a spaghetti spoon, noodles, garlic, cute pot holder, etc. in a dollar store colander. Just wrap it in that clear cellophane. Then everyone would remember the shower when ever they use their stuff...Okay...just trying to help LOL
