children's party ideas...
I've been kicking around the idea of having a children's party for Zachary's birthday this year. I have no idea what theme yet or what activities or even how many children. lol
Nice start huh?
Anyway, I'm going to be adding some links here for party ideas for myself and anyone that might be interested in party ideas for children.
Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions too.

What does Zack like ?????? If you do a themed party it doesn't have to be all themed stuff..... If he likes Bob the Builder then buy just the plates and use Tonka trucks and suck for decoations... If he likes 101 Dalmations.. Use paw prints etc......

He's an easy to please child.
This past weekend he said "I want a little party" I found it funny because he's never asked for one. We decided to just have a celebration to celebrate a beautiful day together. Gabe bought some party hats, horns, and balloons.
We had a wonderful time at the playground. Played some soccer and he had his "little party" complete with fun stuff, fun food, and some small trinket gifts. I had as much fun at his little party as he did. hehe
He was so excited and happy that I know he'd love any party we had for his birthday.
He seems to be loving race cars and racing bikes lately. That might be an idea for a theme.
We've done Chuck E Cheese before and I am not in any rush to repeat that. lol
I'm still thinking of some fun activities for the children to do. Like beanbag tossing or pin the something on something. lol
We'll see. I'm still tossing the idea around and am not sure yet what we'll do.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I've used that site to help plan parties! Family Fun has some great ideas too http://familyfun.go.com/parties/ and here's another site http://www.dominosugar.com/birthdays/. Let us know what theme you pick and we can help you make games. Bean bag toss games were always a big hit at ds's parties. This store is local and we were always able to get great party stuff here http://www.nobbies.com/ or http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcwe...amespace=main. They usually have free shippping over $60.
A rule of thumb for number of guests would be to have as many children as the birthday boy is old. This worked well for me as I was able to manage the number of children by myself.
I had a reputation for throwing THE BEST birthdays in town! If you need some help, lmk.

One year for Alex's birthday we had kids over. My neighbor drew a donky forme on a large piece of paper. Alex and I made a pinata. ( that was so much fun in itself) And Mike and I did face painting.( we used craft paints we already had) The kids had a good time We grilled hot dogs and I think it is one brithday Alex really enjoyed.

It must be the age- my ds also wants a party for his birthday next month. And it's funny you posted this- since I was thinking of posting the same thing.
What's a good # of friends to invite for a 4 year old without him getting overwhelmed?
How long should the party last?
I was thinking about maybe having it about lunchtime- so the kids can have a "picnic" on the front lawn- and have burgers and hotdogs for the kiddos and parents (I would want the parents to stay since his friends range from 2-4 years old)
I was also thinking making up some grab bags for his friends to bring home (misc. stuff from the dollar store- bubbles, crayons, bouncy balls)
