House warming /blessing party
We're having a housewarming/blessing party for my son's new house on the 21st.
I'm trying to decide on what foods to serve. It will be in the middle of the afternoon- so I'm thinking just some Christmas cookies and drinks like cocoa, coffee and tea.
Should I do more than that? Sandwiches, chips, . . ? ? ?
BTW- we're taking a lot of the ideas from this website if you're interested:

Pluse we're adding in some Native American blessings as well , in keeping with our heritage and the solstice that day.

I think a meat, veggie, cheese and cracker type platter would be a nice addition.

Great food ideas! What a wonderful blessings ceremony, I think that is a super idea! Let us know how it goes.

I love the idea of a house warming/blessing party. I think that the hot cocoa, coffee, tea and cookies are in keeping with the holiday season and will be wonderful especially if the house is decorated!!! Also, thanks for the link!!!

I like the house blessing party idea... I'd never heard of that. Cookies & cocoa sound like the perfect refreshments to me. I might add in some bowls of snack mix or cheese and crackers for those who prefer salty treats, but, if you want to keep it simple the cookies are plenty. Have fun!

How about mini sandwiches--I did a party last week where I bought a bag of dinner size rolls, a pound of thin cut ham and a pound of thin sliced munster cheese with a nice mustard and cocktail picks--made 2 nice platters of sandwiches for less than $10-still finger food too so no forks. Cocktail franks in dough are easy and affordable, and quick.
