Default Homeade gifts for men...need help

    Hi Everyone!

I decided this year that I will be making gifts for my DH, Brother and Dad. For DH I'm making a quilt, so I'm already set, but I have been banging my head as to what to do for my Dad and brother. I want to make their gifts, not only to save money, but to make it a little more personal/ special.

I was thinking of making neck wraps filled with flax seed. They will br scented with sandlewood or eucalyptus and spearmint. Different combinations that will not be too strong, but will have a nice calming effect. I think my Dad will like this, but I'm not sure about my brother. He may like it. But I just wanted your opinions and if any of you make gifts for the men in your life, what do you make or have made and did they like your gift? Men are really hard sometimes!

Any imput would be great. Thanks!!!

Michele, I am making a cushion for my son, Shane. He's an environmentalist, vegetarian, non-driver and gardener so I did a garden theme and even though I knew he would thnk his name on the cushion would be dorky, I got around that by embroidering each of these tools with their name underneath: Spade, Hoe, Axe, Nesting box, Edger. I hope he "gets" it. The back of the cushion is a garden theme fabric.

You live in a cold climate, would a scarf and mitten set with monograms be suitable?

Bethany, the cushion for your Son sounds really nice! I live in a cold climate, but my parents and brother live in a hot climate. They live in Georgia. So, unfortunately they wouldn't be able to use them. I am just so unsure of my gift ideas for them. If its gifts for any of the women in my family I have no problem with choosing something they would love.
