g'day mate and happy australia day!
Crikey, today, January 26, is Australia Day. Today is a national holiday when we celebrate everything about living in this wonderful country of ours.
January 26 is actually the day that the First Fleet arrived in Sydney cove in 1788. Aboriginees don't celebrate today, they call it Invasion Day.
So today we celebrate being Australian, we use this day to develop national pride and to celebrate our unique culture. Australian of the Year is announced today, there is a major cricket match, the Australian Open tennis is up to quarter final stage and all over Australia there will be BBQs and parties from the bush to the oceans - we are surrounded by the Indian, Pacific and Southern oceans.
Think of us today and when you're having your coffee, tea or wine, toast us and think of this beautiful country that is a small part of our amazing world.
Happy Australia Day, Julia!

thanks everyone! It is indeed a wonderful day worth celebrating.
Amy and Michelle, if you and your families ever get over here, I'd consider it an honour to show you some Australian hospitality.

Happy Australia Day!!
I will definitely make a toast to your wonderful country and culture. Hmmm, I think this just might merit a toast with some brandy... uuhm ya, it's a medicinal dose you know.
Cheers
